bambam
Hi I'm new at this I am buying RF-7 Home Theater system what I would like to know is I have to run about 60 feet of wire for the surrounds would it be better to use 14 ga or 16 ga wire and is it worth it to bi-wire all the speakers
J.4knee
Welcome to the forum. I use 14 guage for my surrounds, and don't waste your money on bi-wire.
TheSoundBroker
14 Ga is what you want. I run 4 conductor 14 Ga to all my channels in most of my installs for two reasons... Lower resistance, and reliability. If critters get to chewing on an in-wall cable (assuming the cable isn't in conduit), it is better to have a second set of conductors there to give yourself a chance of having a working channel. You'll not hear any advantage in bi-wiring the surrounds...but it can't hurt. As for the mains and center...welcome to the big can of worms. I'd say try it and see if you hear a difference.
