Thanks for directing me to that Link. Since the two RCA cables are being brought down to one, will the speakers still play in stereo? Is there a loss in quality because the cables are being brought down to one?

I'm new to all of this, so any advice and help is much appreciated.

Your just converting two mono RCA outputs to one stereo 3.5 MM mini jack (still stereo). Audio quality should not be impacted, as long as you use fixed volume outputs not variable as some tv's also have.
