flexbone Posted January 13, 2006 Share Posted January 13, 2006 I'm currently buidling a house and I want to put a nice HT in my upstairs family room. This whole HT thing is very new to me. I'm only wanting to spend around $1500-$1700 for receiver and speakers(I have wired it for a 6.1). I know in about 5 years I'm going to finish my basment and put in a really nice HT. In the mean time I need some advice on what to purchase for my upstairs. The room is about 16x18 with 14 foot ceilings. I've thought about just purchasing the cimena 6 or 8 and being done with it. My family and I love watching movies mostly and will listen to music occasionally. I really don't want anything really really loud, just nice and clear for picking up sound effects when watching movies. Any help on receiver and speakers would help.
