AaronL
Right now I have a 30" HD Apple Display... I'm in the market for a HD TV and a new receiver... My thought was this... use my monitor using its DVI(dual link) and the Monster DVI-HDMI Converter out from the Yamaha 5990 and then also run a DVI cable from my cox cable box... This would also allow me to attach a number of components to be displayed also (360, DVD, VHS, etc through RCA & Components.) Now thats all fine and dandy and seems like it would work in my head... just trying to see if a) Im not thinking looney and if the converter and HDMI cables would be fine with the Dual Link DVI cable from the monitor... If it worked.. I could pick up the receiver and fix the lack of TV problem.... Thanks...
ndskyz
Sounds about right. But two things you need to check out. First does your Receiver have HDCP. It helps DVI to HDMI conversion to actually work. Might want to check out the avsfourms for more specifics. Especially in regaurds to the Crime...I mean Time Warner boxes. A lot of TW customers are having DVI / HDMI sync problems, out of the TW boxes.
