ptony619
I have purchased a pair of Synergy SB-3 speakers, will banana plugs work on these, or spades?
dougdrake
Plugs will likely work unless they've changed the caps on the binding posts. Used to be there was a plastic cap molded into the end of the screw-on-thingy to prevent folks from plugging in a power cord of some kind (don't ask me - your tax dollars at work, I'm sure). Anyway, I believe you can remove that end cap out of the plastic-thingy with a small knife so there is a hole into which you can plug your plugs. ptony619
Seems there is a plastic cap molded on the end of the screw on thingy, and is flush with it. It does not seem it is easy to pull out. Is there anybody who has tried to do this? My Synergy KSB 2.1's had rubber caps that were easy to pull out to insert the banana plugs, not the case with these SB-3's. Any suggestion is appreciated. DrWho
Just unscrew the caps all the way and jam out the plastic protector with a screwdriver or some other similar method of removing the plastic. You will feel like you are breaking the plug as the plastic is scored on the inside and will look like it's breaking. They were designed that way for our european friends where their power plugs can fit into the speakers (not a pleasant thing to have happen, lol)
