I auditioned these at a local dealer. It was hard to appreciate the 2 channel capabilities of these speakera due to the electronics. I found the new tweeter to be bright with a solid state Sony but less aggresive than the RF 75. What was surprising was the bass response, which was excellent. I think these speakers will be at their best with tubes and certain ss elctronics. Audition them at home if you can. By the way I really liked the RB 81's They have a less aggressive tweeter than the RF 83's. I plan to audition the 83's with George Wright 2A3 push pull amps and a refurbished Counterpoint 5.1 Preamp. I am also trying to find a dealer with Cornwald III but this is not going to be easy. The Cornwald III have new titanium compression drivers and this has piqued my interest in them.
