Klewless
When the HT decoders adjust speaker delay using the distances input, what becomes the reference point? The main L/R ? The one fartherest back ? Is there some kind of "specification" on this issue ? I am wondering what happens when the Sub is up front and behind the mains. Any help would be appreciated. I tried to google this data but apparently don't know just what to search for. Thanks
sfogg
"The one fartherest back ?" This one. It can't do it any other way.... you can't make sound travel through the air faster. What it basically does is electronically delay the signal to all the other speakers as needed so that the sound from each speaker arrives at the listening position at the same time. "I am wondering what happens when the Sub is up front and behind the mains." If the sub is the furthest away speaker the L/C/Rs are delayed as needed to time align them with the subwoofer. Klewless
Thanks for your response. You'd be amazed at how many dealers I have ask that set of questions and none of them had a good answer; most didn't have anything to say. The main reason for the questions rests in my efforts to delay the sub to account for the Khorn bass unit.
