Absolutely brilliant solution for projection systems and powered subs. Allows you to plug your PJ into a power conditioner or surge protector AT YOUR RACK, while plugging it in at the unit. I use them on nearly every system I do now. As for electrical work...you should be able to pull all the wires yourself and just let an electrical contractor do the hookups. It isn't difficult.
