Ray Garrison
That's interesting. Think it had something to do with the way the CJ felt about driving the input to Storm? The Mac seems to be quite happy with it... maybe the tubes weren't up to the high impedence load presented by the sub? ------------------ Music is art Audio is engineering Ray's Music System
ragjr
I wasn't going to be beaten that easily. I brought the thing back in the house and started all over again. I think I have resolved the issue with the interface between the CJ and the Rel. It probably isn't either just the room. I had to roll off the Rel with a setting of B-3 which corresponds to about 36hz. I had some awful peaks but this setting seems to have smoothed it out and I reduced the volume level on the sub by about 1 notch which is about 3db. I like it a lot better now. At a distance of about 10 feet from the speakers, I have gained a boost of about 4db at 50hz, 7db at 40 and 7db at 31.5hz. I don't know why I am picking up a boost at 50hz with my cutoff set at a low 36hz. In any event, the over-all effect is subtle. It's just enough to make a difference, the sub does not call attention to itself. No big boomy bass. Thanks to all of you for your comments.
