acacia987
so i lost the rear portion of my 4.1's a while ago(thanks to the amplifier) and am now left with 2 speakers and nothing to do with them, i was wondering if i could use them as my surrounds in my home theater while i look for upgrades. i have a Yamaha RX-V2500(130 W per channel). Do you think these speakers could handle some mild use????
DrWho
They'll have no problems. Just be sure you set them to small in the reciever setup menu.
factory81
I have used them in my car actually when I was a teen. The problem is I do not know if they are 4 ohm or 8 ohm speakers. Most home audio tends to be 8 ohm stable unless otherwise noted. Just like I did in the vehicle setup, you would have to cut the ends off the speaker cable. These cables are custom as far as I know, but I haven't researched that so I maybe wrong. I am thinking of using some extra's from my ProMedia setup's in the past for center channel speakers myself. 3" mids with .75 inch tweeter = perfect. DrWho
They are 4ohm speakers and I think any standard mono 1/8" miniplug will work for the speaker input. I've often thought of putting them in my car too...
