I recently purchased a Dlink DSM 520 Media Lounge Digital Audio Receiver. It streams all of my music (wireless over 802.11g) to my home theater. It works OK but its biggest down fall is that it puts all of the music in alphebetical order. Many albums need to be played in the order the songs were recorded. I can make play lists on the unit but it is very slow and cumbersome ( have over 300 CD's on my computer and the play lists are created one song at a time). If I use its supplied software and make a play list there, when it is transfered to the unit it again puts them in alphebetical order. I have talked to tech support, somewhere in India, and they are not any help at all. I have decided to return the Dlink Media lounge and look for something else.

Does anyone have any suggestions or experience with this type of unit?

On first read, my initial thought is that perhaps you're digital music collection isn't named in a fashion that supports track ordered sorting.

What I do with my digital music is to have each album in its own folder, having the album name like YEAR Album Name.

Within that folder, the tracks are named with track number followed by song name. 01-SongA.flac, 02-SongB.flac etc

this ensures that the music plays in the right order.

My music is also numbered just as you stated but the dlink ignores this. I spoke with dlink and they say it will always put them in alphebetical order. I even made seperate playlists and it still did not work. A simple software change would fix this but dlink seemed uninterested. I have since ordered the Slimdevices Squeeze box. It should arrive tomorrow. Good reviews and it plays music in what ever order you have them on your computer.
