leerocker
Hi again, I found some Chorus I on epay on the cheap (i think anyways), and i have a black academy kicking around at home, so it looks like my KLF system is going to be sold in the upcoming months (at least that was my justification for buying the chorus) Problem is, and dont be offended, but I am not a fan of the oak finishes. I like black, as it seems more modern to me. Plus the Academy is in black. Will these be worth significantly less if i paint them black? Also, should i expect to see night and day difference between the chorus and the klf-10? I am sure hoping so. Thanks for any advice!
colterphoto1
If you spray lacquer them 40 sheen like Klipsch does, probably not. If you 'paint' them black- probably.

Jay481985
you need to use dyes to color the wood to look right, stains are bigger than dyes and does not look as good, paint fills the pores so you will see a flat surface void of grains. staining something black does not work well as stains enhance the color already there not actually color the wood. the aniline dye is what is necessary.
