cathouse Posted December 5, 2006 Share Posted December 5, 2006 i have recently been given two 8" radioshack subwoofers approx. 10 years old. i know virtually nothing about how to go about using them. my situation is as follows: i would like to use these in my shop, a wood shop. my reciever (yamaha htr-5940) is located in the office, my speakers are located in the shop approx. 40' away from the receiver. being a woodworker i can build the box, but that's all i know, as for dimensions, powered ,unpowered,crossover, wiring, etc. i have no idea!! i would appreciate any advice or instruction, or pointing me in the right direction for instruction would be greatly appriciated. thanks Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Also you might read the speaker Design Cookbook by Vance Dickason available at the same site which is an excellent resource on building speakers of all kinds.
