ajcllc
What are the benefits of matched tubes for a line stage preamp? It it necessary? What are acceptable readings on them, and what are unacceptable? I just got my first tube preamp and am loving it with some NOS Western Electric/National Electric 396A tubes and cannot believe how my Forte II's are singing! What a difference from my solid state preamp!
NOSValves
Glad your enjoying your new tube preamp. In almost all cases you would not have to worry about matching of any line stage preamp tubes. As long as they test healthy you should be good to go. Of course the best place to ask this would be from the preamp manufacturer but for the most part nothing to worry about. Craig
