atleer
I was finally able to demo this sub. I've been looking forward to doing so for quite sometime. I found it to be unfortunate that the dealer didn't have thebest room set-up. I had spoken with them ahead of time, and they wereable to get one set up for when I arrived. The room was prettycluttered, and they didn't have the speakers or sub in an idealplacement. Due to time constraints, I was unable to re-positioneverything. <> Overall, I was quite pleased, as the sub hadgreat articulation and blended extremely well with the mains. Which, Imight add, was my first experience with the RF-83's. Very nice indeed. I do feel the 83's were too much speaker for the room and sub. Icurrently have the RF-3 II's. So I am not concerned about that issue ifI get one home. I'm considering an upgrade within the next year to the63's...but another issue another time.... <><> <>I wasbummed that the sub, which they had just unboxed, had a glue residueall across the top. I'm sure this was from the protective plastic. Hasanyone else had problems with this? The dealer said he would be sendingthat unit back to get replaced, but I of course would not want to runinto such a situation. I'm sure cleaner would get it right off, buthopefully not the finish as well. I'm still working on the WAF, $ wise. But hopefully soon I'll be able to give personal feedback from my set-up. <>For the meantime, I would love to hear any other impressions people could share. <>Thanks<><><>
TheEAR
The RT-10d should do just great in a room up to 2000cu ft,and even stretch this to 2500cu ft with optimal positioning. I do notknow what room size you plan to use this sub,but in most rooms it will supply good energy down to 25hz.And remain clean in the bandwith it covers, all they way to the limit! As was noticed on the RT-12d by Mr Mullen in his extensive review. My RT-10d stands next to mt RSW series tower almost in the corner.Klipsch subs being very clean do not suffer from as much sonic degradation being placed in corners(to me degradation at this point is large BUMPS in frequency,or room coloration). By opening the sub I am happy to see a high quality woofera nd PR's ,just like its larger brother the RT-12d. WAF should be great,as it fits well in a corner and its out of the way. The top LCD screen on mine was ok,but the store RSW10d has a minor issue,a tiny scratch near the control pod...tiny.You had to look well to see it.But me being picy I saw it. No cosmetic flaws to report on my unit.
