michele.buzzi
Hi, For the first time I can say that I'm a Klipsch-Owner....since I received a couple of Heresy (S/N: 51S440 - 51S441) as a present!! They're one of the very first version with K77, K55 with K700 and K22 woofer with Type E crossover. I opened them to tide them up and to check if all was in working order and I found that one of the two has the inductor in the woofer filter section unwound. The good inductor is wound over a thick paper core and it measures 280 uH with 4.8 Ohm of Dc Resistance. I found the type E network schematics and the indicated inductor has a value of 2.2 mH. The woofers reads near 7 Ohm oh DCR so I think to have an 8 ohm woofer in it. Anyone can help me about understanding what inductor I have to use? BEC
Your 1978 Heresys should have type E crossovers. The inductor should be a 2.5 mH. Bob Crites
