I once had a seller get flakey on a 17,000 item he didn't realize was worth closer to 25,000. Frustrating. While i have some sympathy for someone who undersells themselves, I ultmately don't hold it against a buyer whenever the asking price is paid. The trick is to literally be there cash and carry. It's not uncommon to buy K-horns for less than 1500, Belle's for less than 1300, and LaScala's for less than 600. There have been numerous 1000 deals over the last year for K-horns, and even 600 dollar deals for K-horn decorator version bass bins with all drivers. Don't know...maybe he bought them at goodwill for 250 and just wants to make 1000 bucks on them. Maybe he got his butt kicked by his significant other when he tried to bring them into the house....anything is possible as to why folks want to sell. But I am sure with the right coaching by folks who do not have the money to buy them at 1250 or not even in the market for them....he will back out and relist to try to get 2500.
