K43 Effeciency

Can anyone tell me what the effeciency of the LS with the K43 is. I found out my pr had them instead of the K33. I was wondering because of the bad performance of my 2a3 amp.

I measured the drivers they were all 5.9 to 6.1 ohm

Thanks

some more for the k-33 for compare purposes

Ro = 46/3.39 = 13.57

Z = Re*SQRT(Ro) = 3.39 *

SQRT(13.57) = 3.39*3.683=12.5 Ohms

Fl=25Hz @ Z=12.5 Ohms

(Fh*Fl) = SQRT (49*25) = 35Hz = Fs (good numbers)

Here are the T/S

parameter calculations-

Qms = Fs * SQRT(Ro) / (Fh

- Fl) = 35* SQRT(3.68) / (49-25) = 5.37

Qes = Qms / (Ro-1) = 5.37

/ (13.57 - 1) = .427

Qts = Qms * Qes / (Qms +

Qes) = (5.37 * .427) / (5.37 + .427) = .395

I sent you an email about the LaScala senerio that uses the K-43, which normally includes the AL xover.  If you want to use the LaScala's with a low power amp, best bet would be to put some AA or A xovers in them.  While a lot of home users do not like the AL, I think it has it's place with high powerd amps in high output senerios.

"You might have the LS Industrial version there. They came stock with the K43 woofers."

I had a set of regular 1976 LaScala's that had K-43's in them, but of course, they may have been installed later in the game.
