mpmarino
I got my cast woofers today[] They were shipped promptly and safely - nice idea to tape the boxes bottom to bottom, there's little chance for damage. Anyway, they seem like real nice quality and a definite value. They pass my customary "tap the cone and listen test" -these can make bass They will not find their way into a Klipsch cab - they were chosen for their rare parameters for a set of speaks I plan to build. Thanks Bob.
HarryO
"They pass my customary "tap the cone and listen test" -" I think I'd trust your criteria for testing more than some others "Messmatics", figures, and theories. Congrats on a good purchase. Harry

MP, there is a rule here. If you mention a DIY project, pics and details are required.[]
ZAKO
"Tap the cone and listen test" Some people do strange things. Like kick the tires on the car. I prefer an old richual of sprinkling holy water to cast out resonence demons.
mpmarino
Seriously! I've been doing it for years. put your ear near the cone and give it a good sharp tap. You can easily hear the difference between a woofer with a Fs of 25hz and one with 35hz. Hey, at there is no holy water or bat blood necessary[]
ZAKO
I believe you...Thats what the percussionist does when he puts his ear down close to the timpani when he tunes that big drum.
pocket.change
Cookies... Bah Hum Bug. Mr. Bob Crites' CW1526s, BC125 Tweeters and A' XOs moved into my EV/Georgian KD2s a few months ago. I also replaced the mids with the Atlas driver but changed them to the JBL 2482/2380A combo. Added some EQ for the JBL 2380As (Thanks Maron) and havn't looked back since. The CW1526 in the KD2 bass bin is as as clean as the JBLs they replaced (for a great deal less money) and the fq is lower too. Next.. Andrews horns. p.c
