BEC
Does anyone know what tweeter is used in the KP-201? More specifically, does it use the same diaphragm as the K-76-K or K-79-K? Bob Crites
HarryO
Bob, I just pulled the tweet from the KP-201s I bought today. they have the K-76-K. I talked to colter today and he said they could possible have another tweet in them. I'll send pics if you need. Harry
BEC
Harry, I thought the tweeter was a variant of the K-76-K that used the same diaphragm, but a guy I am exchanging emails with says his diaphragm has terminals on opposite sides like the K-77. Anyway, still not sure what he had got in his KP-201s. Bob Crites

BEC
Harry, Yeah, I am wondering if someone has been doing some creative tweeter swapping in the these KP-201s I have been talking about. Bob
HarryO
Bob, I bought these around 3:00 pm today. I checked and the screws hadn't been "tampered with". I called Colter to see If he was interested in them. No answer. He called back later and the way he talked they possibly had another tweeter besides the 76 or 79 in them. I didn't recognize the number he fed me. There may be a variant not as well known. Except to Mr. Industrial or some other geek like him. Most of the Klipsch I've seen are numbered. Don't mean squat I guess. Can he send you pics? After dealing with Cornwalls for the past 20 or so years nothing surprises me about what is put in a Klipsch speaker. BEC
Harry, I think the guy has about decided to part these KP-201s out. He found that besides blown tweets, they both have burned up crossovers. Belonged to a High School band he said. Sounds like another sad case of Klipsch speaker abuse. Bob

Bob I'd like the metal grilles if they're available! I think they would retrofit my KP250's, I have three pair that are all cloth! On a PRO speaker! There's a beater pair of KP250's in Ohio that have blown K42's and some horns blown/missing. Barely worth rebuilding unless you can recone those woofers. I've been buying some very nice pro Heresies for $3 bills.
