mysterymeat
There was a dense foam between the speakers and the grill on my new RS-42's. It is formed to fit very well. Does it belong there? is it for sound dispersion/muffling, or just for packing? there was no foam in the grill-speaker space on any of my other speakers. colterphoto1
nope, should be just the diamond grid grille frame and stretch knit grille fabric. Take it out. Perhaps for packing? I've never heard of it. Is it mentioned in the owner's manual?
Guest BobG
The foam is there to ensure the grille and speaker arrive undamaged. Remove it to use the speakers.
