paully
I know nothing about equalizers but would like to try one out. They seem to go really cheaply on ebay. Can anyone recommend a decent used one that I should look for? Just basically want to be able to control bass and treble which I can't do in my current set-up. CaptnBob
The one I've liked the most was a three band parametric by SAE. Sounded good, very flexible. Only about $110 on the 'bay. Audio Controls has made some nice economical ones too. I'd stay away from the cheap ones. They do way too much violence to the music. jacksonbart
That was a series on CBS from 1986 to 1989 starring Edward Woodward as Robert McCall. "Got a problem? Odds against you? Call the Equalizer." Good luck finding him now.
hammertop
Got my Peavey in 03 "Q 231 FX". 2x31 with 1/3 octive filters, very sensitive with that many bands to play with. Although more built for live performances I like it (just me). Gain controls are tight and quick. Problems, how much ya what to depart with ($$$) this was around 500 then. If I could only find the old (mint) Soundcraft 32 that I sold many many moons ago. Regaurdless the corns like it too!! Cheap is ok but good costs IMHO. Enjoy!
