Room EQ in Damon's room

You might want to research THX a bit further.

And while you are at it, see if you can get them to publicly disclose their "standards". One would hope that there is more to intelligibility than 130dB SPL levels. They certify cables too. Quite a racket. Their certification ranks right up there with the effectiveness of STP stickers. ...But my stickers are definitely cheaper.

Funny, we make simple suggestions here that are proven and verifiable and few listen or implement them and instead run about buying megabuck cables and $1000+ passive crossovers. How many have implemented even guesstimated bass traps?

Rooms are actually rather easy to treat given valid measurement tools and an understanding of acoustics. The irony is that experts in acoustics have been positing optimal rooms for over 30 years. Yet how many have yet to even recognize them, let alone employ the first thing from them? Few indeed.

Yet still more run to 'studio/listening rooms in a box' websites where room analysis is based upon a diagram of your room on a napkin. Witness Klipsch's tuned room, otherwise variously utilized as a morgue and for funerals due to its catering to the dead (get it?).

Properly designed rooms are both available and actually rather easily obtained. But it helps to go to the proper sources.

This stuff isn't new, and yet we are still debating the applicability on this site. If you're frustrated, just think of how those who have studied this stuff and have been involved with the development of the science feel who still have to try to convince others that the concept even has merit!

And why should they, as after all, there is now magic "room correcting circuitry" available in your home theater. The market, unfortunately, deserves what it gets.

Meanwhile, back at the ranch, the majority here (you know, the edumacated folks in audio) still have no clue what an ETC response indicates or how it may be useful.
