Matching Sub w/ Klipsch f1s

Good Afternoon,

I origianally posted this in the 2channel audio thread, until I saw that this would be the better place.

I currently own a Harmon Kardon Amp 3385 2 x 80w. (nothing too impressive, but it works for my stage in life)

I also own a pair of Klipsch f1 floorstanding speakers.

I
love the sound of my setup, but would love a little more low-end on my
music. I don't do any HT, but i listen to a complete variety of
music. Is it a good idea to add a sub to this setup? I was
thinking a JBL SUB 10 or the Klipsch 10 (the downfiring one). I'd
like to spend less than $200.

So the question is, is it a good idea to add a sub to this setup? And if so, which sub will suit my needs best. I'd like not to overpower my speakers, because I value balanced sound. I'm really just looking for something to fill out the bottom of my music.

I've seen the JBL SUB 10 advertised from 160- 350. Is this a good sub? I've read good things.

I appreciate any feedback on this topic,

Thanks,

CS

Hey CS,

I have a Velodyne cht-12 (12" 400 watt powered sub) that would go well with your setup. Its adjustable volume and crossover allows you to tweek it to perfection. I live in Canton (I assume you live in the Detroit area) and you can swing by to listen to it. Its in near mint shape and I'll sell it to ya for $200.00 (I paid around $4xx for it). I just purchased a pair of KLF-30's and KLF-C7 (4 12's & 2 8's) so I need a 15" powered sub.

Sure, I'd love to swing by and check it out.

What kind of speakers do you currently use it with? I'm afraid that it might be too much sub for my place. I want something that is very responsive and musical. I'm not interested so much in wall-shaking as I am in definition and tone. How well does it play music?

I've read some reviews that consider that sub very good for HT, but not so great for music. I'd like to hear your opinion.
