  1. I think there are 2 flanking the screen if I remember correctly from another thread? edit: here it is http://community.klipsch.com/forums/t/169718.aspx They look like pillars. Bingo...and like Seinfeld..they're spectacular!
  2. Jim Salk makes some amazing speakers. I toured his shop last year and demo'd his latest products. A buddy of mine has the soundscape 8's and they're top notch! Anyhooo...here's my first stab at a home theater: (Klipsch KLF-30's, C-7, KSP-S6's, & THTLP's) I still need to drop a ceiling and lights etc. 2 channel critical listening and 58" plasma setup:
  3. Thanks guys! I can't wait to hook them up! Home Theater area. Two channel listening/plasma area>
  4. I didn't remove the rear panel. I added corner round molding in all 12 corners and 3x1 cross braces through the woofer openings. The speakers in the last picture are Tyler Acoutis Linbrook signature series. I kept the KLF-30, C-7, & KSP-S6's/B&W asw-850 15" sub for my 5.1 home theater and updated my 2 channel system to: Home theater PC with 2T of lossless ripped cd's and high def, Bolder Cable modded EE Minimax tubed DAC, Modwright tubed pre-amp, Bryston 7B-ST monoblock amps, & Tyler Acoustic Linbrook Signature system. (with M&K MX-5000-mkii sub crossed over at 50hz although it really doesn't need it! LOL)
  5. I added internal bracing/dynamat on the horns/stuffing/and Dean G updated cross-overs on my KLF-30's cabinets and noticed a nice improvement.
  6. Thanks and sorry for hijacking the thread:) It's fun designing my rooms/stereo from scratch rather than designing cars/tracks on CAD the last 21 years.
  7. Right on motorcity. Glass is evil. I modeled up my rooms and stuff in them. Here is the evil mirror and this will help me figure out where to place the acoustic panels...enjoy!!!!!
  8. Ha, no doubt! So is the wife when I told her about the decor changes I have in mind!
  9. I have already started 2 large panels and bass traps for the front wall. The sides are going to be tricky due to the placement of the fireplace on one wall and a 8 x 4 foot mirror on the other. I'm in 100% agreement that the room treatment yields more benefits than the speaker tweaks!
  10. To me the bass seemed a bit loose, somewhat boomy before the bracing. Now it is tighter/punchier but that could be the polyfill. The original cabinets did NOT have any internal bracing. I used 1/2" quarter round for all 12 inside corners and 2.5" x 3/4" braces in the 3 areas shown. It is fun project nontheless. I also had DeanG redo the cross overs and added dynamat to the horns that seemed to tame the highs and open up the sound stage.
  11. I added internal bracing on my KLF-30's cabinets yesteraday and noticed a nice improvement.
  12. Give the Harmony 1100 a try. I used to have an 880 but preferred the larger touch screen of the 1100. Logictech was letting these go for $229 now...killer deal! http://www.logitech.com/en-us/promotional-items/devices/7744?WT.ac=psE|7744||Image
  13. Welcome back. Ha! Black Crows on Palladia...I was watching that last night.
