Video Guy
According to the "History of the Klipsch Cornwall, Cornwall II, Cornwall III" on KlipschCorner.com the K-55-V, made by Atlas, was the primary mid-range driver used from around 1960 until 1981. The K-56 mid-range driver, Electrovoice 1828, was used for a short period in 1974 as a temporary replacement because the supply of K-55-V drivers was interupted. I can't comment on the differences between the two drivers.
