Lateley, I noiced that at the end of the day, when the system has run for 5 or 6 hours, sound becomes "sour", harsh. I would say distorted, but my dial is at 10 o'clock max. I fear the yamaha is busted, and I intend to replace it, but I fear it might have damaged the speakers. My nightmare is that the Synergy system just broke in, and this is how it will sound. Guest BobG Posted January 21, 2002 Share Posted January 21, 2002 It is more likely that something in the amplifier has heated to the point where it is not operating optimally. If the sound is good prior to the 5-6 hour heat-up cycle there is little possibility it's the speakers. What does it sound like after 1 hour of play?
