  1. I really wish Logitech would sell their Z-680 sub by itself. The thing is freaking amazing. --188 watts RMS (yes, RMS, not peak) --I think it's 10 or 12" --I forget the impedence and other important stuff. Stupid Logitech doesn't give out detailed specs! I've heard it in CompUSA and it blows the Klipsch PM5.1 sub to heck. I don't get it. What's so bad about this sub? I don't get why other subs with specs that aren't as good as considered better than this one. I need a quick physics lesson people. And why don't subwoofer producing companies make subs that are as powerful as this one?
  2. Words taken right out of my mouth. The Z-680 is indeed better than the GMX by a longshot due to better sound and a bigger sub. However, why the heck would you waste your money on a GMX when the PM5.1 is better?
  3. I'm curious about Klipsch's 5.1 subwoofer. Why they didn't make a huge one instead of just slapping two woofers together I don't know. One thing though--if you position the subwoofer incorrectly aren't the bass waves from one woofer going to reach your ear slightly ahead of the other one?
  4. Hey, I currently have a set of Logitech Z-540 computer speakers and want some information in case I ever want to upgrade them...well, actually, WHEN i upgrade them. I am curious as to the power of the 4.1 sub. Is it the same as the 2.1 sub? I don't want to lose the power I ahve now with my Logitech sub. At least I know it will sound clearer. Here are Logitech's specs. Not very detailed at all. They don't even tell you it uses a pressure driver instead of a long-throw woofer. http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm?page=products/details&contentid=5045&CRID=2&detail=2&countryid=19&languageid=1
  5. The problem is probably your sound card. My sound card craps out easily when I mess with my EQ (I have an SBlive4.1). Don't worry about it, it's easy to fix: 1) Turn down the levels of the bass on any equalizers you have. 2) Turn down the volume on your computer, and turn up the volume on your speakers. This will reduce how much your sound card has to process. 3) Make sure you haven't blown anything out.
  6. A buddy on another forum is on his 3rd or 4th set of PM5.1's. He's really dissappointed. Fortunately, Klipsch has the extended 2-year warranty. At least Klipsch takes the time to admit AND FIX their problems. Still stinks how many sets people over at TechIMO have gone through.
