  2. UPDATE: Speakers have been sold, pending shipping.

Klipsch RF-83 in excellent condition. As you know, these are no longer manufactured, but have a wonderful warm sound that I prefer even over my RF-7s.

    - black

    - excellent condition

    - with original manual, brochure, feet, grills

    - original boxes and packing material

There is one odd thing about this set - they don't have original Klipsch stickers on the back. They are definitely not refinished in any way and are in factory condition. Boxes have serials and manufacturing date. Called Klipsch, they found it unusual, but didn't think there was an issue with the speakers. These were purchased as a set with the rest of the high-end components I've been putting up for sale and were shipped as a group to the same address.

I can combine shipping on these with my other items:

    Onkyo TX-NR5007 THX2 Ultra Plus 9.2 145w

    Klipsch RC-64 Cherry

Klispch KS-525-THX Ultra2 THX surrounds   Sold

Klipsch 2 THX Ultra 2 subs and amp  Sold

    Asking $1600 $1400   $1300 (make offer?)

UPDATE: Price lowered, need space in my garage!

Shipping: probably around 200-250 depending on destination (keep in mind, these are 100lbs each) . Local pickup and inspections are welcome.

Sorry for crappy cellphone pictures, i was in a hurry to take them as I was watching our 3 year old

    .

  3. just fyi - i have the 2238 and it has no problems pushing RF-7s and think they will handle Heresy's just as well. Those old receives  (even lower rated ones) where well made and packed bigger punch than model number or rating would suggest sometimes.

  4. 1-What condition are these in?

2-Are these made in U.S.A. or China?

3-How much to ship to 48073?

4-I just got a pair of these and this amp and they kick some serious a$$. I'd love to have four!

    Thanks for answering my questions.

    1) Condition - great to excellent. One sub (The one without box) has a small finish nick on a side (rear of a side panel) - not really visible unless you put your face to it and look into the right spot.

    2) Sub says "Assembled in USA". Can't tell you more than that, thats all it says on the label.

    3) Insured via FedEx ground is about $250 and will take about 4 days.

    4) That would be super kick-***!

  5.

I'm in San Diego and can meet half way if it is a long drive for you.

    ...meet you in Oklahoma?

Which part of San Diego is that?  :P

Seriously people, if it wasn't for a small kid and a tiny living room (no dedicated HT room)... i would be keeping these. It's hard to let em ago since I've always wanted to watch Bluray of "The Pacific" with these .... which incidentally has also been sitting in the original shrink-wrap since the day i got it (probably 2 years at this point).

  6. For sale are two Klipsch KW-120-THX subwoofers and Kllpsch KA-1000-THX 1 kilowatt amplifier. This is the set form the THX Ultra 2 cinema set sold by Klipsch. Original price for each piece $1500, so the set was $4,500.

I'm in San Diego and can meet half way if it is a long drive for you. I can get shipping quote upon request, but you will pay actual charges (continental USA only)

  7. Hi all,

I've been absent from forum for a while since my work gotten busy and I've just started 2 side business. Anyway, I'm giving up on building the home theater and will be selling some of the items I've been hoarding. In the days to come I will be putting up some gear that has seen no use for the most part. It has been sitting either idling in the room or boxed up and in storage. I will be posting them as I have a chance to unpack and take pictures.

I would prefer local pickup in San Diego, but will ship. If you live close by - I can meet you half way (within reasonable distance).  Right now these are only listed on Klipsch forum exclusively to see if someone from community needs them to complete one of those DIY home theaters. Buyer will also get dibs on some of the other Klipsch equipment ideal for stereo or home theater setup (pretty desirable items of equal caliber).

  8. If you plan on riding 500 miles, i would not recommend a true super sport such as Yamaha R6, CBR 600 or GSX-R for a simple reason - very agressive seating position with the body leaning forward - you will get worn out very quickly.

At the same time if you will be riding on freeway a lot - then you want to start at 600cc and now lower. This is for two reasons: stability and safety. Light bikes are not nearly as stable at high speeds as bigger, heavier ones. My Ninja ZX11 which weight 650lbs was absolutely wonderful at very high speeds. It was well composed, sure footed and offered great wind protection. But it was designed for high speed. At the same time GSX-R 750 while fast, would feel less stable at 130+mph and even wind could easily move you into another lane.

Given the info above - i think your choice of Kawasaki 650R is absolutely fantastic. It is a great bike with good, comfortable position, plenty of power for highway passing and maneuvers and enough mass to not feel like a leaf in the wind.

  9. True on all counts, but to each his own. I had different bikes - 600cc, 750cc, 1100cc and rode yet even more that i didn't own. While it's true that 600 may be easy to find and cheap, but just like a set of your basic "Sony" speakers from Best Buy - some of us want something unique (like those 60th aniv Klipschhorns for mains or Klipsch Promedia Ultra 5.1 for a computer instead of 2.0 Creative Labs speakers).
