  1. i have a audigy2, promedia 5.1 ultras, and a dd5.1 running off powerdvd 5. i just want to use the dd5.1 for movies, and have the ultras setup up so each speaker is the same distance from me. what should the dd5.1 settings be to get ideal sound. Plz help, i dont even understand most of the settings on the dd5.1. i rememember a whilie back there was a thread that had the settings for the dd5.1 and the promedias, but i cant find it anywhere so i was hoping someone else new thanks

DTS is louder but the analog inputs have always had pretty loud volume. I have it hooked up to my promedia 5.1's and for some reason i get a buzzing/hum sound from my speakers whenever i hook up anything to the RCA's on the DD-5.1 the only time i dont get the buzzing is when im using the TOSLINK/optical cable for sound going to the DD5.1, no one has been able to help me with that problem and i posted on this forum almost a year ago asking about it, no help from techs. Someone said it was a ground loop problem but ive been in two different apartments over the several months trying diiferent equipment with the same problem, however i dont get any buzzing when i hook the DD-5.1 to other 5.1 speakers (like a small sony 5.1 unit). ---------------- so your sayin that in order to get rid of the hissing/humming/buzzing noise that i get at high volumes using the dd5.1 i have to use an optical/toslink cable instead of the rca cable? does the audigy2(not plantinum) even have an optical out?
  3. maybe its just an audigy thing in which you have to turn up your promedias extremely high to get decent volumes. I have an audigy2 and i have to turn my promedias up to 70-75 to get decent sound during movies. But with those high volumes i get a LOT of hiss to go along with it. Its unbearable so now i just put my dd5.1 in my closet and jsut use the regular analong outputs from my soundcard. Does anyone else have a non CREATIVE sound card that doesnt have to have the volume put extemely high? what are your setting LTech221 on your promedias (volume, sub settings, center channel settings, rear settings)
  4. i have an audigy2 and i wanted to hook up my klipsch promedia 5.1 ultra's to the dd5.1 i just bought. I know i have to hook up the ultras to the dd5.1 with the same cables that came with the ultras. But which cable do i have to use to hook up the dd5.1 to the audigy2's digital out? is it this one? http://www.radioshack.com/product.asp?catalog%5Fname=CTLG&product%5Fid=15-1089
  5. ive had the set for about 18 months. Yesterday the set just started hissing. I un.plugged it from the soundcard and it still hissed. Basically it hisses at the same volume whenever their is power to the speakers. Once you turn the speakers off the hissing stopped. Now today when i powered up my computer the speakers didnt power up. IVe checked all the connections and everything. So have my $400 set of speakers crapped out on my 6 months after my warrenty expired?
