  1. wow voodo truley amazing setup u got there..I can imagine the beautiful sound just looking at that setup..Note on one thing...During my evalutaions on setting my CF-1's up, I noticed these speakers need room to breath between one another. Because they have a very dynamic image they truley need to be spread apart ATleast 10 ft. It makes a wonderful difference to have them at about 12 f apart with the back spikes off (slightly tilted up) and angled in a bit. With the horns being so low it makes a big difference when there slightly tilted back.... AWESOME system bro !!! Monty
  2. Yes he CF-1's do have the MEO magnets and the poly carbon graphite cones. The only thing different is the aluminum diaphragm tweeter. I honestly considered going up to the 3's or 4's but I would have to upgrade my Denon 3803 to a high end receiver or seperates. Its just too expensive for me, I'll stick with these bad boys After reading your posts here and measuring my port tube, Im very happy to know ive got the first version epics W/ Consecutive serial numbers []
  3. Marems TY! I had a feeling I had something special here the day I purchased these Gems. I was blown away by the glossy black piano finish on the baffle design. When I brought them home i told my wife my god there huge and heavy for 6.5 inch drivers. I hooked up my Denon 3803 and whewwwwwwwwwwww do these things kick ***. Ive owned a dozen or more Klipsch....Reference series Rf 25 ,35, Kg 2.5, 3.5 ,4.2, 5.2, Hereseys, Extc...NONE compare to these...In my opinion these are the Ferarri's of Klipsch. Those who denounced these speakers as Klipsch failures and returened them or sold them, really passed up a true audiophile speaker......literally the best of the best IMHO and I only paid $150.. Its amazing what marketing does to the minds of ppl...there is abselutly no market for these speakers for the floor speaker enthusiast. written off by most as boom boxes poor design.. One final note. They are HUGEEEEEE and devistating. they need power...hard core power supply..Im running a Denon 3803 and I would say thats the bare minimum. I think its safe to say, if youve got a good power amp and happen to have the series ones...You got some of the best gear that kind of money can offer...Your in heaven man Monty
  4. I realize this is an older thread but im hoping somoene can answer my question..The curiousity is killing me..None here has mentioned the CF-1, which I have recently purchased. I measured the ports ...there 6 inches..and my serial numbers start with the first 5digits 221494. Are these the version ones? that are mentioned to be better sounding and rare to find? BTW these are also consecutive serial numbers...PLS someone knowledgable REPLY!! TYYY Monty
  5. Thanks for the reply guys. I've owned a dozen Klipsch speakers (even new in box) Alough I have never had consecutive seriel numbers. Maybe it dosent mean much but it sure is something to brag about to friends. I bought these from a very upscale home in the suburbs here in northern California. They are in abselute Gem mint condition..High gloss, just beautiful...I only paid $150......lifes good
  6. Hello everyone happy new years! I have a question about matching serial numbers..I recently purchased a pair of Klipsch CF-1 Epic's, in mint condition. I noticed on the back s the serial numbers are as follows: 221494892 -and- 221494893 . My question is...Does it have any meaning in how the speakers where purchased ? Does matching serial numbers give them any more value?..I'd appreciate any feedback..

  8. hey guys just a heads up Im selling my velodyne sub on ebay..just purchased 8 months ago still under factory warranty ...like new condition hardly used.. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=5786204795
  9. thank you, My wife knows noghing when it comes to inerior decorating. I do it all myself. I got that from my mothers side..lol Monty
  10. Thank you for the replies. Qman I put more time in thinking and research into this living room than I have with any hobby ive ever had. (beleive me I have had a lot of them) I have the sliding patio door on one side and the fireplace on the other with the openeing just across from the fireplace. I realized that if I was going to have a HT that was going to be the only way i was going to do it. I origanally cut the wood to fit the 46" Mitsu I had but when I upgraded to the 55" it was much wider and therfore that is the reason for the gaps on both sides of the rack units. I am proud of what I did to this living room. It has paid off for me and my family in a big way. My kids always want to know when is the next time we are going to blockbuster..lol! My ideas were sparked here at this site talking and listening to guys like Ed and Qman. There are so many smart and freindly people here I enjoy it very much. Monty
  11. hey tony, That angle didnt come out the way I wanted it to thats why I took another pic at a wider angle. In front of the TV is not a platform its the coffee table. Although I had to build a platform underneath the television because there is a fireplace behind the wall unit. The concrete slab that comes out in front of the fireplace is the reason I had to make that platform.
  12. HELLO EVERYONE! some of you might remember me as Monty AKA Montgiue. I had to create a new username because I had trouble uploading this pick with the other name (go figure) . Let me get started by saying that their is no comparison in center channel speakers. I have had so many center channel speakers in the last three years including the C-7. None of them even came close to what this speaker can put out. Movies have literally come alive in my living room. The dynamics and range of this full size speaker is breathtaking for center channel output. For those of you that have done this know what im talking about. For the surrounds I have the Klipsch KG 4.2 floor speakers. The benifits from having floor speakers all the way around are uncompairable..... Tthe second pic is just a wider angle..thanks for veiwing. Here is a breakdown of my system.. ------------------------------------------------------- Klipsch KG 5.2 mains Klipsch KG 4.2 rears Klipsch KLF10 HornEd center channel conversion Mitsubishi HD 55" widescreen monitor Toshiba Pro scan DVD w/DVD audio Harman Kardon AVR 65 5.1 digital receiver w/DTS
