  1. Picky, where did you get the fancy Klipsch plaque to go on the wall, and what is the blue glowing light under your booze?! Awesome!!!!!
  2. I love the suggestions. So far, one for the half moon, one for the squares. I can only find 6 of the squares though, not sure where the others are. I do have 3" size 10 screws, and they will be going into a 2x6 stud. Any other suggestions?
  3. I am about to hang my RS7s on the wall, and I seem to remember that I need to place some lil rubber bumpers on the back of the speakers. I have a small bag of stuff that I got with the speakers; I have several half moon shaped rubber bumpers, and I ahve some small flat squares. Which ones go on the back of the RS7s, and do I place two on each speaker (bottom two corners) or on top and bottom (all four corners). And do they go on the small lip around the edge, or on the main part of the speaker? Thanks all!
  4. I will give this a shot, but I thought I had tried it. Maybe I was trying the video source for recording. Anyway, thanks. I cant find my manual, and most of the finer details of the operation of the 3803 I dont want to mss around with.
  5. I have a 3803 hooked up to a big screen tv. For video sources I have a DVD Jukebox, TIVO (Directv) and a VCR. I also have music sources hooked up to it. I would like to be able to watch a video source, like a ball game, and listen to music at the same time. If I am watching a Video source, and I change the source at the receiver so I listen to music, the video signal going to the TV stops. If it makes any difference, I am running a S-Video signal from the receiver to the TV.
  6. The song "Teenage Wasteland" is not mentioned on the package, but when I saw them live in October of 2003, they peformed it last I think. Is the song not on the DVD? I thought it fantastic!
  7. I really like S&V. I think on one hand it has become better over the years because they review TVs, CDs and DVDs, but I like it before when it seemed (to me at least) they reviwed more products. The reviews are very easy to follow and understand. I have been a subscriber for about 15 years or so.... I also subscribe to Home Theater mag, very similiar, but always reviewing different products.
  8. Here is a look at the right side where the other RS7 will go. They are pretty close to being directly accross from the other, they will be offset by maybe a foot. I really dont think we will notice anything with them being offset. We will probably be sitting close to the speaker location-in other words, the speaker may be just a little in front or a little behind us, depending on where we put the couch. Is having the speaker 2-3 feet behind that critical? Any thoughts/suggetsions?
  9. Thanks all, especially Trey. I am enclosing one of two photos here to give a little insight to my situation. The wife was not happy that I am planning on puting the RS7s up, she thought I was going with in-walls. NOT! SO, I need to keep them up mostly for looks. Right now, I have in-walls for rear surrounds and they actually arent bad sounding. But the room is square, and not very big. The new family room is much larger. This picture is from the back of the family room looking towards the wall where a big screen will go. The little 20" in the photo is only temporary. Look up to the side and you will see where I have the speaker wire coming out of the wall. I would like to mount the RS7 somewhat close to that. My biggest concern was I would like them up high, I dont want them low mostly because I know the wife will NOT be happy if they are down at ear level while sitting on a couch. It seems that about 7 feet up from the floor is Klipsch's maximum height reccomendation.
  10. I am close to installing my speaker system in my almost completed home theatre. I have RF7s up front, a RC7, and RS7s for surround. It looks like I need to place the RS7s just about in line with my couch, and the "manual" states they should be at least a foot or two from the ceiling, but that seems pretty low. I would like to put them almost as close to the ceiling as physically possible. The ceiling is almost 8 feet high. Will mounting them so the tops of the speakers are within a few inches of the ceiling be "bad" or not recommended? Or will it be fine? Also, any suggestions on securing the speaker wires to the speaker as I go to mount them on the wall, there is not much room in that little cut out in the back of the speaker...
  11. I got it figured out. The faint sound I heard was apparently coming from the other speakers, maybe a little bleed over in the channels. Anyway, I went into the set up menu for my Denon 3803 and for some reason the back speakers were turned off for the ext in input. I turned them on, and HOLY COW is this SACD AWESOME!
  12. Sorry Jimmy, I misread your post and I thought you had already recvd them. I am sure you will love them. The Bostons are not as efficient, but Im talking I hear almost nothing out of the speaker. The CD I bought is the SACD 5 ch. version. I will monkey around with it tommorow.
  13. JimmyL, you got a greta deal. I am a regular customer at the store I am pretty sure you are referrign to. Have been for for about 18 years. They wouldnt come close to that for me, which prompted me to send out emails to about 10 dealers in the neighboring states. I got a deal very similiar to yours, minus the sub. So how do you like them? I also have a 3803, and i am very impressed. My old system was a denon (I forget the model number right now) and a set of KG4s and an Academy for the centre. The new system ROCKS! Sony guy, you also got a fairly good deal also. How do you like your setup?
  14. Thanks everyone. I have them set to surrounds, not back surrounds. I will tinker with the Sony set up to see what it is set too. Its amazing how the technology makes things seem complicated. very nice to have all the options, but unfortunatley complicated.
  15. Just got my SACD player hooked up to my Denon 3803. I have all 6 audio cables hooked up from the 5.1 outputs on the SACD player o the 5.1 analogue inputs on my 3803. I have my receiver set to "Ext In" and the cd sounds great, but the back speakers wont play. Ive tried setting the SACD to both "Side" and "rear" for the back speakers, but the sound coming from the back if extremely faint. PLEASE HELP !!!!!!
  16. Thanks Paul. I didnt want to spend $15 then realize it wont play. Also, does anyone know what sound field setting my receiver (Denon 3803) should be? I have a optical cable running from the SACD-DVD Changer for the dolby digital and DTS soundtracks, and I have 6 RCA plug wires for the analog signal going into the 5.1 RCA plug input on the back of the receiver.
  17. I paid a grand for mine from a local dealer so I could get the extended warranty. Thats a pretty good price. I havent dealt with them personally, so I dont know about their customer service and how they handle problems. By the way, are there any other 3803 owners out there to help me with hopefully a simple problem? If I am watching a DVD thru the 3803, and I want to switch and watch satellite TV thru the 3803, I am unable to switch sources on the remote! I am sure its me and not the remote..... Update 1-09-04; I figured it out. Towards the upper left corner is a small button that says "amp". I need to push that first to set the remote to control the receiver. I was right-it was me not the remote!
  18. I just bought a new Sony 400 DVD-SACD changer. I was out buying some SACDs, and I noticed some say they will play on SACD players only, while others claim to be compatible with SACD players as well as DVD-SACD players. When they claim they will play on SACD players, does that mean as long as the machine will play SACDs, they will play all SACDs, regardless if I have a DVD-SACD player or a dedicated SACD player?
  19. Like I said, I contacted numerous authorized dealers. One of them that was out of state agreed to meet me to make the sale (so I wouldnt have to drive a long distance). I paid 3 grand for the setup (1 pair of RF7s, 1 pair of RS7s and a single RC7). I was very satisfied with that price. Places close to home were not even close to that figure, so they didnt get the sale. Good luck.
  20. When I bought my set up a short while back, I talked to numerous dealers in my area and I told them that I wanted a pair of RF7s, a RC7 and a pair of RS7s. I also checked with bordering states. I told them to shoot me a price, and out of a handful, I got what I thought was a very good price compared to the MSRP. Klipsch has a MAP (Minimum Advertised Price) which is what Klipsch says is the minimum price. I was very satisfied with the price I was quoted from a place that wanted my business. Check around, call around. The place that wants your business will make an offer. PS. The speakers are GREAT!
  21. I have the RF7 line, with a Denon 3803 powering them. It is SWEET! more than enough power, and very clean. Ive had the setup for about 4 months, and I couldnt be happier. You will not be dissapointed with the 7s.
