  1. Hi 007. I tried twice to email you back, and I recvd a message that it was undeliverable. Yes, its still for sale. Try to email me again, or PM me....
  2. I just bought a AMD Xp1900 CPU (on 8-18-03) because I wanted to upgrade. However, my mothernboard went out. I bought a new MB which would accomodate a faster CPU, so I bought a new AMD XP2500 Barton. The XP1900 works fine, but there are no refunds on an OEM CPU. I have the CPU only-no fan. I can send a photo if needed, along with a copy of the receipt-however there is no warranty. I paid $57.99. I will sell it for $25 and I will pay shipping.
  3. Send me an IM, I have one I am looking at selling. I can email a photo of it to you.
  4. Thanks all for the info. I will put it on this forum and not ebay should I sell it. GARYMD, I will try to figure out how to pm you. I am leaving for LAS VEGAS (WOO HOO) for a softball tournament soon, and wont be back till next week, so i will wait till then. I will shoot a few photos and post them as well. I do now have the RC7 to go with the RF7. I used the Academy with my KG4s.
  5. I recently purchased the RF7 line (fronts, center and surrounds). AWESOME !!!!! is the one word that describes it. I have a Denon 3803 receiver, and both music and movies sound AWESOME !!!! Go and listen to a setup. Bring your own DVD and CD to watch and hear what you want to, and compare the sound and price with the different combinations.
  6. Why all the hubub for the Academy? I have one that I am considering selling. I now have a Reference 7 system so I dont think I will be using the Academy anymore. I bought it brand new around 1993 or so. It is flawless. What would be a good price to ask?
  7. Trey and Steve, go ahead and jump in whenever with stories, advice, whatever.... One topic starts another and everyone likes to read them. Funny story-On KQRS, 92.5 FM Minneapolis (92kqrs.com) if I can remember it correctly; The morning crew (hilarious) had Bon Jovi on this last week. They talked about Slippery when wet (Great CD!) and it its original cover. I guess the guy doing the design thought pink would look nice on the front cuz some womanm in the album/CD sleeve had the same color on her fingernails. They made 500,000 units and they were ready to ship and they were starting the tour. So the cover comes out and they go ballistic. The band couldnt wait to make a new cover and hold the 500,000, so they released the 500,000 but JBJ made his own album cover (that most of us know of) by splashing water on a garbage bag and hand wrote "slippery when wet" and said "heres the new album cover". The other guy was fired, and after the album was released, JBJ began selling out his concerts like wildfire. He talked more about going to the beach near his hometown to shoot photos of girls on the beach for the CD sleeve. One of the girls is his wife.... Maybe this is common knowledge to some, but it wasnt to me. It was interesting to hear a story like that on a radio interview instead of the usual blah blah blah that most interviewers do. Sports interviews are the worst. JBJ has a great sense of humor, and did not at all seem stuck up or snotty.
  8. Marksdad (hey, my great father in law is Mark), The CD changer is way to keep all my CDs in one place. More of a storage solution. Neither the wife or I like the big CD holder I have (is it in the picture off on the right-I dont remember?) Anyway, I do have a Denon DCD1500 (circa 1986?) that is built like a tank. When the basement is done and all is hooked up (along with the B&O turntable) I would like to do an A/B comparison. All in all, I like the CD changer. The sub is on during music, but not too loud. I havnt had any skip yet. Its on the sub for convienence for now. Trey and Steve, nice set up/picture. Thanks for the advice. I just have been so giddy (like a little kid) with the new set up, I just had to get the picture on there so I can show my friends at work. Its a "Look at what I got!" kind of thing. I will monkey around with the speaker positioning to see what sounds good. But for now, with a little toe in, I am absolutley thrilled with the sound. My wife laughs when friends are over and I tell them to sit down and listen. They are awed, I am proud, and the wife says I am crazy. Yes, I am crazy for her, I tell her!
  9. They are toed in a little. The couch is only about 10 feet from the TV and speakers. When the basement gets finished, the couch will be about 18 feet back. The whole room will be bigger, so it should sound even better.
  10. Im with Justin. Me and my 12 year old son thought it was very good, I would say 4 out of 5 stars. My son just saw T2 about a week ago for the first time (I just bought the new extreme DVD) and he really liked that also. Anyway, the points Justin makes are good. Arnold doesnt wanna be killing cops, so he doesnt. He just makes sure he gets John outta Dodge. Its a movie, go and enjoy it. Of course there will be a T4. At the end, when the movie ends and its all kinda quiet in the theatre, I yelled out "I'll be bock!", and the crowd loved it! 2 thumbs up!!!!!
  11. I used to use a set of KG4s that I have had since 1985 or 86 for music and video. I bought an Academy in the early 90s and it worked. I had a Denon Dolby Pro Logic receiver (forgot the model number) that had 110x3 in the front, and 35x2 for the back if I remember correctly. I just picked up a Denon 3803 and a set of RF7 and a RC7, and I cannot begin to explain how absolutley AWESOME they work together, both music and video. Example: I bought the new Terminator 2 DVD, and along with my older Def Tech 250 watt sub, it sounds FANTASTIC! My friends and relatives are awestruck! I also recently bought John Mellencamp CD. Its a lot like Eric Claptons' from the craddle CD, older blues/folk type songs. Even that sounds like he is right there playing in your room. I am using a set of Boston Accoustic in walls right now for my back surrounds, and they sound pretty good. But when the basement gets finished (in a couple months), I will hook up the RS7s. OOOOOOOOO I get goosebumps just thinking about it!
  12. Try this; Hookup the center to either the left or right speaker, play a stereo source (2 channel) like a CD, and see if its still muddled
  13. Thanks for the info on the bolts for the RC7. Anyone else have info on the other pads/bolts and half balls.....
  14. Just got a R-7 setup (RF7,RC7 and RS7). looks like the RC7 came with a bag with 2 3 or 4 inch screws, and 6 small dime size discs. What are these for? And what about the 4 little half balls that came with the RS7s....nothing in the little booklet that came with the speakers. There are also 4 small screws with a half ball on the end that came with the spikes for the RF7...what are these for?
  15. Sorry !!!! I plan on using the ceiling RCR5s, to stay with the reference line. When I am listening to DD-EX, I have all 7.1 speakers hooked up and running. Then, when I want to listen to Pink Floyds Dark Side of the Moon on SACD, the front 3 speakers and sub go on,, plus the rear surround RCR5s go on.....is this correct?
  16. When I get the ceiling spekaers put in and a SACD player, I will have totoy with it. Thanks for the responses....all info is helpful!
  17. I am in the final planning stages for my new home theatre. I plan on using the Denon 3803 with the Reference 7 speaker set up (RF7s, RC7 and RS7s). I plan on a future addition of a pair of the IC5 ceiling speakers for the rear surrounds. What would be the ideal way of hooking up a SACD with the above speakers and placement of them? The RS7s will be to the sides of the listening position, up near the cieling, and the IC5s will go half way between the couch and the back wall. Will I have to switch the speaker connections on the back of the receiver each time I want to listen to a SACD and a Dolby Digital EX DVD?
