  1. I have no idea what Jef is talking about. What HK means by high current amp is that the amp is capable of passing high current (Amperes). The power supply is capable of feeding large amounts of current through beefier output power transistors. The difference between a "high current" amp and a regular amp is that a loudspeaker's impedance (electrical resistance) is not a constant 8 ohms so when the speaker dips to say 2 ohms at some frequency, the power supply's rail voltage won't drop as much as a cheap amp and the power transistor is capable of passing that current.
  2. The quintets are probably the best speakers for it's size. If you ever open one up, you'll find high quality parts inside. Large drivers, real crossovers (not just a high pass capacitor for tweeter). btw, if you do open it up, spread the polyfill out. That mod seems to reduce the boxy sound.
  3. Quintets are actually pretty good for surround duty. I have a pair of quintets with KG4.2 fronts hooked up to a Sony ES STR-DA2ES. They sound fantastic. I set my 4.2's full range while the quintets gets the default 120hz high pass. The problem in your setup is Pro-Logic has limited bandwidth surrounds. There really isn't much surround sound in pro-logic, mainly ambiance.
