  1. Nice write up Colter I can't wait till that hits DVD. There is no Imax near me.

I am gonna recommend Rolling Stones Biggest Bang DVD exclusively made for Best Buy, but can be aquired other places. I thought there were some great performances, and the extras were great. The camera shots were huge in this concert film showing off just how big a deal these guys are. Unbelievable for their age what they are capable of. They still got it that's for sure.

    Great Bang for the buck!

  2. JM thanks for the usefull info I have dial up I may have to buy it unless I download it overnight. I am gonna look into Kubuntu as well. The only big concerns I would have would be video editing and burning programs i'm used to. Maybe even running it but I am sure I could learn it pretty quickly ( getting everything to work may be a different story). A bootable cd sounds like the way to go. I need to back up some stuff before I try to do anything drastic to my computer. WiFi won't be a concern untill DSL arrives if it ever does. I heard that it maybe the law for all phone lines to be digital by 2010 like all tv's. I'm not sure if this is true I hope it is.

  3. I can't comment on Parasound but i've owned a few HK receivers at least. Most of them smoked the newer seperate Rotel amp I owned at one time. I don't like giving advice on gear that much anymore it's so subjective, and many folks are very biased towards certain things. I don't care about anything except for the musical ability the amp has, and that it can handle the volume levels I like without listener fatigue. Good luck. :)

Hold on to that old HK receiver you got. I would just incase.

  4. Is it hard to learn? I'm always up for new things to try on my computer. I like how for a "free" program it is about 10-15 to ship it from most places. Still dirt cheap compared to MS, and apple. I looked into apple but there software is SO expensive let alone a desktop computer.

Is Ubuntu safer more secure than Windows XP pro?

  5. I could see where anyone could fall asleep watching this film. I believe it's real close to an hour of boredom before the movie starts rolling. Then it gets kind of funny and then there is some pretty darn good action scenes. I wish they would of just shortened it a bit because I started liking it at about a hour ( at least) into it. I watched it last night and just happened to look up at the clock on the dvd player thinking wow nothing has really happened so far. It was clocked at over 60 some minutes into the film. I enjoyed it though after it got rolling.

  6. Bill,

I picked up a Tascam US-122L last Spring. Two mic pres and line inputs, and Cubase LE. It works ok. I think the M-Audio stuff is pretty good, too. I have an older M-Audio card in one of my desktops and it is very sweet. No hash from the computer, even though it is an internal card. I haven't been looking lately or keeping up with it. We have a small Lexicon at school, that one of the music profs uses (Cubase LE with it as well). A lot of people like the M-box stuff. I just haven't spent the time I wanted on recording.

    Bruce

Thanks I will have to look into some of those.

  7. If they don't need Pro Tools, I would get a small Mackie interface and Tracktion. It is inexpensive comes with certain Mackie products, and is a breeze to use, while still having a very, very good mix engine. Everything stays on one screen. You can download it and try it, too.

    Bruce

First off how you been Bruce? I was wondering can you recommend any good usb interfaces? I really would like to start recording some guitar licks I just randomly come up with. That I could never possibly ever duplicate. ( AUDACITY is not bad for free)

  8. This will be a great gift for Christmas it's beautiful and fun ( instant classic it's got soul in this one). I'm looking forward to the wii zapper as well and then hopefully get some great rail shooting game. I guess it comes with Link's Crossbow training so right off the bat you can start blasting things. That would be an excellent gift as well if you can get one. I believe a lot of folks will be buying and reselling these on ebay. The zapper came out today or tomorrow. I preordered one from Walmart last night and they said they have no idea now if they can go through with the order. I guess I will just have to look in store. I already see people overcharging on ebay for these. They will be a hot ticket for the wii this Christmas.

  9. mOOn: Wass Up?!

Joe: I think you will dig it man. If you got an excellent printer they supply nice pdf photos for inserts, covers, disc photo ext. Also it sounds awesome on the Klipsch's like they are right in your living room mistakes and all LOL. But it's great I love it, it hasn't left my cd player yet on the big system anyways.

They sound alot better when you buy them and get them to quality media. You can purchase them in FLAC also but I have dial up and mp3 took long enough. If I had High Speed I wouldn't hesitate to get it in FLAC. Anyways hope you enjoy.

  11. Overkill~ Immortalis

CD~ Thrash metal old schoolers ( from New Jersey) who never changed imagine that. Germany were lucky to get a bonus dvd we weren't so lucky here in the States. From what I've seen it would of been worth buying just for that! Lucky people I say.

Metal heads check this link for a video of the kill live rippin it up. ( it seems they change the video at times there was a video of "walk through fire" off the new album, but this as I type at the moment it is "rotten to the core" old school tune. Classic Overkill )

  12. Description:

Kevin Costner stars in this psychological thriller chronicling the downward spiral of a man (Costner) at war with his own alter ego (William Hurt). Demi Moore co-stars as a sharp-witted police detective whose passion for her job attracts the attention -- and respect -- of the very serial killer she's tracking. The film was penned and helmed by talented writer-director team Bruce A. Evans and Raynold Gideon (Stand by Me

    My opinion:

I enjoyed this film although you may need to be in the mood for it ( you may never be). People should know this deals with murder someone who is addicted to murdering people. So it may not be appropriate for some folks. It's not all that gorey or bloody ( well it has its moments), but it still deals with demons in ones mind which in this case is William Hurt who does a great job. Great acting on everyones part I thought Kevin Costner did extremely well in this one. It's just something you wouldn't expect from him untill you see it.

    Sound:

There are gun shots in this that blew me away ( Heresy II's). I mean better than any action flick I've heard lately. I thought neighbors might think I was literally firing a gun in my home. Bass isn't everything and I believe there is more slam in a couple of gun shots in this movie than there is in most the recent action films. My opinion of course and it could be how they get you by surprise from the quiet dialog then BLAM! Not a ton of earcandy in it but I thought I should mention the gun shots anyways.
