  1. Thanks for the input, but it is a two edged sword. If I leave the dock on all the time, the volume does always stay at the same level I left it at previously. However, when I leave the dock on for a day or so, then it seems to build up some level of static. The room where placed has tons of static. So, when left on say overnight, you might notice some pops on some highs. If I shut down the amp, then the static seems to discharge. However, then I am stuck with the crazy high level of volume that must be the default setting on the amp. The default level is so high, if I turn it on and simply hit the Standby button, I fear I will blow the speakers. You can't change the volume on the dock in Standby mode, so I must lower the volume at the source level, the PC. Normal?
  2. 1) If leave the system on, I get a lot of pops and crackles. If I shut down and restart, everything appears OK. Normal? 2) When the sub is powered on, the dock starts in Standby mode. If the button is depressed to take it out of that mode, the volume is ridiculously high. So, I need to start play source at zero volume, adjust volume on the wheel of the dock, then turn up the source. Why is the volume set so high on the dock and how do I change it? Thanks.
  3. I am clueless to all of the new home theater talk. After years of moving around in apartments where space and money were issues, I accumulated a lot of old components. Now in the world of home theater, I do not know what to do. I have the following gear to incorporate into a new home theater system in a large room: Carver 250 Watt Power Amp (M-500t) Carver Pre-Amp/Tuner Combo (CT-17) Denon tape deck 1 Pair Klipsch Forte 1 Pair Klipsch kg3 Sony 5 CD Changer Sony DVD player In my first house, I just stored all of this stuff and put in a Bose Lifestyle system, but now want to upgrade to real home theater. Should I just scrap this stuff and start over? The preamp and amp are old and I assume a no go in the new digital era? Can I match these speakers? If I use these speakers, which go where, what center channel do I buy, what subwoofer, powered or not powered? Any help much appreciated
  4. I have a pair of KG3s and the woofers were blown out. They were replaced with non-Klipsch parts and sound pretty poor. I would like to replace with original Klipsch parts or suitable replacements. Are these available?
