  1. I was wondering if someone on this board can help me pick out a pair of studio monitors.  Im helping a friend get the best set he can.  here are the requirements:

*Audio Fidelity is the most important

*No Surround Sound (stereo is fine)

    *No Headphones

    *200 - 500 range

    thanks a lot

  2. the problem with LCD remotes is i dont think that they have enough buttons for what i want to do. especially for my replay TV where there are so many different commands (skip, instant replay, channel guide, replay guide, etc) that arent on most remotes. that radioschack remote says 59.99...id it 20 bucks at the store? and how exactly is it configuredm, i cant see the actual thing.

  3. i sold my klispchs (and they were only promedias anyway), but i do listen to rock on my sennheiser HD600s and soon on my Logitech Z680s.

some of the abnds that i listen to:

    Pearl Jam

    Led Zeppelin

    The Beatles

    Tool

    Foo Fighters

    Soundgarden

    Nirvana

  4. hey guys,

i needed a remote control with learning capabilities. im planning on using my XBOX, TV, ReplayTV, and Logitech Z-680s with it.

i was looking into getting this:

    http://www.rca.com/product/viewdetail/0,2588,PI700122-CI700179,00.html?

    has anyone used that?

im a college student with essentially no money, but i needed a new remote becuase my replay TV remote seems to be freaking out lately (keys are worn out)

i was thinking of getting that RCA from ebay, as its pretty decently priced there. Hopefully, though, i can reprogram any of the keys on it...or im screwed.

can i reprogram any/and all buttons on that remote?

are there any other suggestions for well priced remotes that may do the job a bit better?

    thanks for the help

  5. here is some more good grunge news (PJ ALBUM OUT TODAY ant its only 11.99 @ Best Buy)

"Pearl Jam frontman Eddie Vedder and Foo Fighters singer Dave Grohl, both avowed Cat Power fans, guest on the record -- Vedder behind the mike for Marshall's plaintive "Evolution" and Grohl at the drum kit. The three were brought together by producer Adam Kasper, who worked on the most recent Pearl Jam and Foo Fighters records (Riot Act and One by One, respectively) as well as You Are Free."

    eddie and dave?

    insane.

  6. There are a lot of awesome grunge CDs coming out.

Foo fighters - one by one is amazing, i have it and i think its fantastic.

Nirvana - Nirvana looks like a horrible buy, 15 dollars for one new song thats not even that good? i own every other Nirvana CD, so i dont need/want this one.

Pearl Jam - Riot Act. this is going to be an awesome CD, i reccomend you guys check it out.

EDIT: yeah, i spelled "grunge" incorrectly...now i look like a moron...

  7. memento is my favorite movie. its not independant, though. i think its signed under a major studio. nolan is a great director. following is a fantastic movie as well (that is independant). his third movie, insomnia, was a remake. it was pretty good too. i love memento, becuase its amazingly great cinematography.

    my favoe movies are

    1. Memento

    2. The Matrix

    3. Pulp Fiction

    4. The Usual Suspects

    5. Mr Smith goes to washington

  8. "Got this cd at target yesterday for $13.98. It is excellent. Been jamming it ever since i got the cd. from my car to my computer, to my ht, and then to my new HD600's! (i got them!!!)"

" now have all three linkin park cd's but non of their hybrid theory stuff (the original name of hte band). i also picked up 311, john mayer, eminem, nickleback, puddle of mud, default, the calling, flickerstick, matthew good band, and a few others... kylie minouge... spent a ton this week on cd's and headphones (hd600)... money well spent! lord of the rings... the list goes on and on...."

justin, how did you go from wyclef jean to this crap? puddle of mud? linkin park (their lyrics mean nothing) and the singer sucks. eminem....god. mayer is pretty awesome, though.

for gods sake man, get some pearl jam.

  9. youre right.

    the movie is actaully amazing.

the cameras shifting between black and white are fantastic (not as good as memento, where noaln is trying to recreate the whold polaroid thing), and some of the shots are simply stunning.

the story is pretty good, but is a litle cliched at times. the ending is stunning, everyhting tells you something wrong is going to happen, and it does, just nothing that you would expect. i hate saying this, becuase it sounds so fake, but the movie is heartwarming...but at the same time disturbing, i was silenced after watching it for a good 10 15 min...this is a lot coming from the person voted most talkative last year Smile.gif
