  1. How big is your listening area? Mine hits pretty damned hard.... (Actually so hard that it was screwing up my tv from 8ft away - I had a hell of a time placing it!) Not only that though; The SVS' are super accurate and clean. No mudd coming out of this sub! Just realized this post was a month ago, lol
  2. Back on Topic here..... If anyone looking at this post is wondering about the Axioms... I've had them for a while now and can say that they kick ***! Ofcourse I have never had multi-thousand dollar top of the line speakers in my house.... But this guy has; http://www.goodsound.com/equipment/axiom_m3ti.htm "For a reality check, I then switched to six-driver three-way speakers 20 times the M3Ti's sticker price. The only noticeable improvement with this material was in weight and scale, especially when Nojima thundered into the piano's bass register. Otherwise, the level of coherence and sheer elegance remained unaffected." (Note he was testing WITHOUT a subwoofer.) On a superficial side note....the black grills look alot better with the beech finish! (They swapped them out free of charge for me.) PS. Still waiting to hear about the 602s.....
  3. Do you guys have any friends locally that are into audio? I reside in Rhode Island and it seems as if the only people interested in audio around here are out buying Car Audio (BAH!)..... Its depressing I got my SVS and everyone who's seen it tells me that their "....2 15"s are better... and only 525watts? They have 10000+watts..." HAS THE WORLD GONE MAD?!?! Does noone realize that its nearly impossible to get 10000watts from a 12volt electrical system!?!? Lets see...that would be 833amps running through their 14gauge wire.... FIRE, FIIIRRRREEEEEE! (Not to mention that those so called subs put out nothing but MUDD.) Ooh, even better is when people start talking about Bose Cubes... Whats that? No Highs? No Lows? JUST BLOSE?? Apparently not everyone has heard that yet! Bah.. Public schools need to institute a "How Stuff Works" class! (Maybe Klipsch should change my "Cool Newbie" to "RANTING MANIAC!" - STAY BACK OR I'LL MAKE YOU LISTEN TO BOSE CUBES PAIRED WITH CAR SUBS all run by a badass 100000000+ watt PMPO amp!!) PS. When I asked what PMPO meant I was told....DEAD SERIOUS...."Pimped OUT."

If I ever decide to go back, heh. (I'm 19 in case you are wondering)
  5. Got you...... Just out of curiosity, what do you do for a living where you can just "..pick up" a pair of $3500 subs?!? (I'll have to look into that field when choosing a major, lol)
  6. I'm glad to see you could find SOMETHING wrong, even I missed that homophone and I wrote the post. You are too smart for me... I am totally outclassed; I concede to your superior intellect.
  7. Dual B4-PLus??! Is your theater room huge?!? 8 db-12 drivers?!? (Driven by the Crown K2 amp?) That would probably break my house!
  8. Ok that was a little harsh but the laughter hurt my feelings ...... lol "A kevlar cone cannot be power hungry. LOL"
  9. OK FIRST OFF - You are an arrogant mofo(TheEAR). Just because you have an esoteric hobby doesn't mean you are gods gift to enthusiasts. You are sitting in a thrown you special ordered right now aren't you?!? SECOND - I was not bashing the speakers; There are numerous advantages of kevlar cones in the lower frequencies... I was simply stating that kevlar cones are generally less effeciant than most other materials of similar rigidness (more specifically aluminum). Kevlar is heavier than most other materials used in cones which would make for a less effeciant driver.... I have plenty of evidence to back me up. http://www.aluminumspeakers.com/whyaluminum.shtml http://www.birotechnology.com/FAQ/conemat.html If you want more feel free to search yourself. I am sure the speakers sound great, a world renowned company like this wouldn't make some kludge loudspeaker. But THEY ARE less effeciant(88db@1w/1m) than similar Klipsch or Axiom bookshelfs.... "Weaknesses: Absolutely none other than they are hungry for power. Feed them!" http://www.audioreview.com/Bookshelf,Speakers/B&W,DM602,S3/PRD_130193_4290crx.aspx And BTW "pseudo kevlar" would NOT be KEVLAR at all. (Pseudo meaning fake/false/counterfeit)... Anything else you would like me to explain? ("TheEAR")
  10. Heh, Those kevlar cones are power hungry..... Doubt my 100wpc amp would be able to deliver Probably have a damn nice sound if you've got the power... Though I do wonder how much better sounding they can be than the Axioms... Looking at the frequency charts I'd say they have a much better bass response, but then my SVS takes over at 100hz anyhow, heh. So for me the only diff would be in clarity.... And I gotta say the Axioms are pretty damn clean sounding speakers. I look forward to hearing about them.
  11. I take it you never ordered them?? Oh well.
  12. Hey..... I just bought the M3Tis last week. I was debating between the Klipsch RB25/35s and the Axioms..... I wanted to setup a 6.1 arrangement with identical bookshelfs and an SVS.... I've read all the reviews and looked at the sound graphs; The Axioms have a very flat response accross the board (between about 90hz and 18khz)... Before they start to roll off at their respective driver limits.... I personally think they blend GREAT with my SVS. Very tight, accurate, loud speakers... Not as effecient as the Klipsch Reference Horns but I would say more neutral sounding and accurate(judging by the older reference as its impossible for me to demo any of the new ones); And my 100WPC amp pushes them plenty loud (read - uncomfortably loud) before it runs out of juice! Unfortunately I had trouble demoing the Klipsch Reference because they are no longer carried by ANY of the local stores..... Best Buy, Tweeter, Bernies, Circuit City, Sears, etcetc.... And I could not find a single review of the new bookshelfs on any of the hometheater sites..... All this irritated me quite a bit. I used to be a Klipsch fanboy after all (even had the jacket!) The Klipsch also cost quite a bit more.... Especially when you add in the shipping. (Because if you are like me you would have to have them shipped to you) Axiom ships them 2 day fedex international FREE! And if you don't like them you can always send them back within the 30 day trial period. I got them thru Amie@axiomaudio.com she got me factory outlet ones; mint condition! not a scratch!! with a considerable discount....even switched out the tan grills to black for me! Overall I was very impressed with the company and the product.... These speakers kick ***! So does the SVS btw
  13. I've been reading rave reviews of their speakers..... The free shipping is also very attractive considering what it costs to ship speakers... It'll cost me a fortune to ship the whole Klipsch setup.... Which brings up a qualm I have with Klipsch!... Why the did they pull out of tweeter?? I live in RI and every corporate store chain under the sun is here. Yet the closest "authorized" Klipsch dealer is over 50 miles away... I can get any other speaker (aside from axiom and SVS since they are internet only/factory direct) right down the road at either best buy, tweeter, bernies, circuit city, sears, etcetcetc.... except Klipsch Reference!
  14. I'm upgrading my old synergy setup (7.1 setup - 2 KSF 8.5 1 KSC-C1 4 Quintets and 1 KSW12).... I want to go with 6 identical speakers in a 6.1 arrangment.... I was going to go with RB35s but I've been reading rave reviews of Axiom's M3TIs and they are considerably cheaper to boot... Anyone heard the Axioms.... or both?!? Sooo many choices... the only thing i'm sure about is an SVS sub!
