  1. horns are great if you can tolerate a what could otherwise pass as full size refrigerator in your living room. The THT is 36 cubic feet or more than 20 RSW-10's.....I'm sure any subwoofer would be better with 20 times the volume, give the op a break will ya...If box size is no issue, of course performance can increase dramatically. Tapped horns also might be a bit more efficient in the low end compared to standard horns, but they also give you huge peaks in the upper bass as much as 10dB swings which are simply not easily EQ-able. You can also port or vent the rear chamber of a standard horn to get another reflex resonator and added low end output - Klipsch actually did a lot of design around that awhile ago.

  2. Jay, new TC VMP's will be avail in Dec.

EP4000 is a solid choice, I couldnt conceive of a better amp for the money - it is however a re-badged 2500, but its still a great amp.

I forget what cone color you have, but if its black, i would go with a gloss white finish and wet sand between coats.

  3. ya, i just found my old avatar too, funny how things work out!

ya, lets troll the PM section and teach the nubs a lesson... problem is all my pro medias broke :(

They dont make em like they used to Jay. PC speakers utterly suck now days. I gave my RSX's away to former klispch employee... oh the irony, sadly

i'm without PC speakers now. I think im gonna design some mini linesources using custom planars like the old monsoons. Problem is those only were good

for about 1k, then they rolled off and canceled out below that. I'm gonna make mine a little woofer and seal em up so i dont have that dipole effect.

I really really want a pro media subwoofer again! Best sub of all times!

  4. ya, feel like i just got out of the slammer! I posted a pic here 4 years back that was not appropriate for mid-west folk.....lets just say things are more liberal here in californa, but thats OK, whats done is done, and im back.

  5. I have it set up next to the sounddock and im7. The iGroove is really not that bad. The first few times I had it, we had it on low quality songs with low dynamics and nothing really stood out. Well, I can assure it its noticeable better than the sounddock when using higher quality music. It was not just me who noticed this, but virtually any customer I would show the two systems too. The iM7 is a step up from the iGroove and I say that only because its got that 4" active subwoofer, however, the im7 is entirely over designed and prone to parts breaking. Its also larger and heavier and im sure the iJam will top it with ease when it arrives. The iM7 really does not obey the same rules as the sounddock and igroove in which case, the igroove wins by a massive margin.

  6. Read

    this thread, lol

I work at compusa while i go to college. We sell a number of bose products, but

I happen to have the PM 2.1's set up right next to the Bose companion 3. Its

amazing how many people look at that pos bose system. It so cheap looking! Yet

every once in a while I have to tell people to buy the Klipsch. Unfortunately I

sold out of all the Klipsch 2.1's and 2.0's and there is a huge pile of the

    companion 3's left...

    One

of my coworkers keeps trying to push the Bose 321 system on people, I hear him

in his pitch and he says the word "quality" a lot. I dont mind him

try to sell shit, thats his job, but he honestly believes its high quality. Its

too bad we dont have any REAL 1000 dollar speakers in the store. We are

supposed to get stuff from goodguys so once we get some klipsch reference

speaker in there, i'll show him what quality really is.

  7. My step dad just packed up his bose for an Energy Reference Connoisseur 5.1 system. RC-70's are pretty sweet! He got all 5 speakers for less than 1/2 of the what the bose cost!

We still need a sub and reciever, but still!

  8. I guess subwoofers are like women, you'll always have your curiosity, but you cant have one both unless you give up another and you may regret that... unless of course you're a pimp like theears and can keep around 15 of em at the same time. You did make a good choice imo with the RW-12.
