  1. DAMNIT, IF there was a sealed RSW-15 I would have grabbed it! Everything is pretty much picked thu in <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" />Cali. And yes, for some reason RF-7's hold the record for the most trashed looking demo speakers in the world. WHAT THE HELL do people do to these things? It looks like people just walk into the store, pull out a hammer and start beating the shit out of the speaker. Scratches on all sides, corners smashed, dust caps are unnaturally inverted, tweeters too! Its a good thing the RF-7's have a tweeter grill otherwise they too would somehow be smashed!

    the RSW's arent much better.

  2. everything is almost 1/2 off. We ended up going with the Energy RC-70's because of thier size. More of a high end small tower speaker. VEry nice, but yes, not klipsch. I may go back and grab some Klipsch if i can find one more RF-7 in a box. I found one in Cherry I just need its friend!

    RSW-12 was only 800!

  3. We're getting some RVX-54's for under 500 bucks

    Energy RC-70's are 600 bucks!

But i do have a question. The RC-70's are pretty nice. I think they are a bit expensive for just being dual 6.5" mains, but they are a 3-way speakers. Anyway. What we are trying to do is create a 5.1 system in a smallish 9x17 room. Its a very weird size, but we are going to set up the plasma TV on one of the long wall. This will give us plenty of seating because the couches just dont fit the other way. This also means our 5.1 system is going to have to be pretty close. The front speakers are going to be about 6-8 feet away! The RC-70's a pretty big speaker, much more so than the RVX-54's The RC's sound better, but I think the only real advantage is the depth extention. For movies thats not really needed as we will run the crossover around 80hz and let the 0.1 do the rest. So is it worth it or should i just go with the 54's.

The other advantage with the klispch is the rest of the speakers are less money. The RSX-4's are cheap and honestly we dont have much room for anything bigger. But does anyone have much experience with energy? I dont think goodguys has much of the larger klipschs like RF-5/7s left. And I would take the 54s over the RF-35s

For the sub, we're either going to get the RSW-12, the SVS PB12+ or HSU VTF-3 MK2.

Im leaning on the RSW if we can get it below 1000.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

  4. here another GOLDEN review with plenty-o-funny spelling errors too

I have been a Bose fan for a while now,and I own one of their home theatre systems. And just like their home system beets alot of the competion. This iPod dock station is by far the best out there for the money. I tried some of the alternatives and they sounded just as much as you will pay for them. With $300 Bose system in my opinion I got my money's worth

    "beets alot of the competion <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

thats 3 words out of 5 that were not spelled correctly, no technically he was RIGHT because he did not actually say what he intended to say.

wait a sec, wait a sec...

    Whats the difference between

"tried some of the alternatives and they sounded just as much as you will pay for them"

    and

"With $300 Bose system in my opinion I got my money's worth"

Cant you just interchange those statements and they will mean the SAME THING!

"With $300 Bose system it sounded just as much as you would pay for it"

    or

"I tried some of the alternatives and they sounded as if I would get my moneys worth."

    SAME THING!

    DUMB F***IN PEOPLE!

  5. I read this on apple.com under the user reveiws for the sounddock.

im writing an essay about it atm, but im gonna leave the quote here for you guys to laugh it. Its a near perfect example of how bose targets consumer weaknesses from all directions!

Bose SoundDock iPod system ($299) user review

well i got this for christmas last year and it is probubly the best speaker system i have ever owned. i dont care if you cant afford it u should get it!

go in debt if u have to! this will be the best speakers for ipod avaliable.

    What do you expect?... its a Bose<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

  6. Nice mini-review ottscay!

I love the iFi and frequently recommend it to people in retail stores but I sure wish Klipsch would initiate a revision in the shipped package along the lines of all the feedback they have received.

    1) Add a mini-jack stereo cord for computer operation. jheeeze it costs so much to include this.

    2) No real documentation regarding iFi usage with a computer. There are a awful lot of non-iPod computer users out there in the marketplace.

    3) Don't ship the battery installed in the remote because you never know how long the vendor has had the box before you buy it.

With that, I have got requests for black. Yes thats sort of a huge issue, but at least the rsx's already come in black. There are black ipods and NO black ipod speakers. Some people are stupid and buy things only for teh color!

  7. 007 how does the rsx5 sound hook up to the ifi???

I know you have a pair of them lying around in your home have you experimented hooking those to the ifi?

Have not tried em yet, but they will work. They have similar FR response and the same impedance.

  8. The subs were by no means "too loud." They were just sloppy one note wonders that resonated for hours after the signal passed.

I took a peak at the reciever and the volume was up to 0 and they weren't even filling the room with sound. I can't imagine how anyone could rock it out to that.

what brand were those elctrostatics? man those were awful sounding - like I would have taken bose over them awful! guess which speaker the sales dude preferred? [;)] hahahahahahaha

They were probably those little 100 watter REL 8" mini pieces of shit. Put a Sub-12 into magnolia with floor the ceiling carpet in a small room, HOLY SHIT, those reps would think twice before bashing on Klipsch

  9. I work for compusa, we carry some Klipsch and some bose and some other crap. We are supposed to be receiving a lot of stuff from good guys, but none has come in yet. The end caps (so to speak) where bose resides are paid for by bose, or microsoft or intel or apple or anyone who wants them. They are very expensive and they basically end up paying for the rent. They are very important to the vitality of the store. When we do get the Klipsch stuff, it will be set up horribly and ill do my best to make sure it at least works. Bose pays for an end cap, we have a 321 on display for 999 bucks! But i managed to get the iFi set up on an end cap too curtsy of apple. I talked the apple rep into setting up the iFi on an iMac on an end cap to show off its dual purpose. I thought it was a great idea until i realized how bad the soundcard was in the iMac, its embarrassing so I pretty much have to be careful with what songs i demo the system with. <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

I wouldnt even recommend klipsch touch magnolia if it wasnt for the fact goodguys just got destroyed by compusa. There is really no major retail store for Klipsch reference gear anymore and it certainly could compete with anything in a magnolia inside bestbuy. I think the space issue is the biggest concern. Magnolia really doest need more brands to sell, they just need elegance, and thats why the store looks so nice. I think the new Klipsch RVX stuff or RSX may have a chance in there for a few reasons. They are newer and more modern looking concepts. They take up less space and seem to be desired more by the average consumer. People really dont want big speakers and even audiophiles may gasp at the size of RF-7's. I know I cant fit em anywhere in room, but I would love to own them. magnolia already sells some flat wall speakers - <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" />vienna acustics makes a pair for a lot more money than the RVX-42's and I have to be honest, they are not as good.

Klipsch has some pull too because they already distribute their entire synergy line, promedia line and apple line to bestbuy. Bestbuy knows them and im sure they could work out a deal to get their reference stuff into magnila. Its makes all the sense in the world, I just don think youll see Klipschhorns or RF-7s in thoes tiny little stores.

  10. I dont want to preach to Klipsch, but ya, I think they needed to embarrass bose, not stand next to them despite the prophets from the iGroove. Yes Bose makes a KILLING on each sounddock sold, but you cant play with them unless you play thier rules and Klispch does play low-fi rules. Anyway, the iFi rocks and it looks like the ijam is gonna kick tail too so thats all good.
