  1. I have also bought several Klipsch speakers (RF-3II, & RW-12) from Ultimate Electronics in Dallas. They ask list price and have a limited selection at times. With Klipsch's reorganization of the sales and distrib. there are fewer dealers. Actually not many at all in a metro area the size of Dallas & Ft. Worth. Seems to reinforce the higher selling prices. I've had good service from Ultimate Elec. It can be frustrating dealing with a large chain when trying to find something in stock though. I had to wait forever before they finally got the new RW series of subs. Love the 12. Would like to get an RC-7 but Ultimate is asking over 7 hundred, closer to 8 after taxes. Picked up some RB-5s & RC-3 from Ebay for good prices. Also got another RC-3 (for 6.1) from Tweeter during their Klipsch clearence.
  2. Last year I finally moved into the 5.1 digital format. I started with a Pioneer VSX-D811S receiver. There are a couple of things I find lacking and am not sure if it is just related to my equipment. I've noticed when the signal is Dolby Digital or in 5ch stereo there is no way to adjust the tone controls. They simply go flat on the bass and treble, although the loudness function still does work. Do many other receivers have this issue? I actually miss being able to use my equalizer (I'm aware of the taboo nature of this subject ) in the tape monitor loop. It seems that function is not possible any more. I do plan on upgrading in the future but I want to get maximum flexibility, features, and inputs when I commit more money. Thanks for your comments. bassman

    The Who

Have not purchased this one yet. I have it listed in my rental que on Netflix. Really liked their "Royal Albert Hall" live concert DVD. Really smokes.
  4. Just picked this up yesterday. What a killler disc at alomost 3 hours long. The first song (Tom Sawyer) immediately fired my new RW-12 (waited impatiently for months for Ultimate Elec. to get some in). Can't wait to hear the new Indiana Jones DVDs on the system. I have about 20-30 movies on DVD but many more "music" DVDs and really enjoy the concert at home experience. Also, the new "Triumph" DVD really smokes also. Great sound.
  5. Thanks for the insight with other's experiences. I have called around Dallas to try and find other dealers and Klipsh has pretty much cut off the smaller specialty shops. I guess they're going for bigger numbers with a larger chain. I will be returning the sub before my 30 day window whether they get the RW-12 in or not. I may just go to the web and try to find someone who actually has it in stock ready to ship. I'm know I can save money this way since Ultimate sells them for M.S.R.P.
  6. What's up with the slow distribution of the new subs? I live in the Dallas area and there aren't any in town. I've been waiting patiently for these. I've had a RW-10 to evaluate and like it pretty well. I have to return it in 2 weeks if Ultimate Electronics doesn't get the 12 in. I hate to order off the web and get sub-par equip. or worry about the transaction. I'm looking for a little more output. I've read in the forum that there is a noticeable difference in the two subs.
