  1. So basically all the DVI cable will do is allow me to use the fuctionality of the wide modes on my tv?
  2. After a few months of tweeking I finally got my Yamaha/Klipsch set up sounding good. I am now having issues with my rear projection tv hooked up to digital cable. My local cable company recently hooked up digital cable to my rear projection tv. They hooked it up(wife was at home, I was traveling) with RGB connections instead of the DVI. Outside of the fact that I cannot use several of the features, will the DVI cable make a big difference.
  3. As long as it is not used for extended periods of time, is it alright to use the PS2 through my rear projection tv/home theater set up?
  4. I currently turn off the sound from the tv speakers. Will I need to do anything different when I connect the digidtal box?
  5. I have a Yamaha 5640 receiver with the Quintet speaker system. Slowly but surely getting started. I am trying to avoid any bus wrecks.
  6. I kind of figured that it should not matter. Our cable company says they will upgrade the digital cable box to also be an HD box for free. Any experience with that?
  7. I currently am just using standard cable TV. I was ready to go digital until my neighbor said his home theater speakers did not work with the digital. By looking at his set up it should work. He claims the cable company told him to just use his TV speakers. Any truth to that line?
  8. I recently purchased a 46" Sony RPTV. What can I do to help the PQ? Some channels are good and some are down right ugly.
  9. I recently installed my first home theater system. My tv currently sits on a stand on the floor. My wife has her heart set on putting the television in a cabinet(46" Sony). If I put the set in a cabinet I think the speaker wire might be too short. Is it safe to add to the current wire or should I rerun what I have?
  10. Being new to HT I am struggling with where to place the speakers. I just purchased the quintet package. I have a 21 x 21 great room with a cathedral ceiling. The television is placed on the wall below the peak. This wall is about 9 ft and then there is a balcony. The seating area is directly across the room. There is no left wall and the right wall has a large fireplace in the corner. The back wall has a 9 ft window with about 2 ft on either side to mount. Should I mount the fronts and rears or should I go with stands?
