  1. Just wondering what sort of difference I would hear if I went with an RC-3II for my center vs the RC-35 since I have RF-3IIs for mains.
  2. I use some RB-25s for surround duty and they do a great job.
  3. $425 a pair for RB-5s and $175 ea for an RC-3II is a great deal! Dang, I just paid $315 for an RC-35 center to go with my RF-3IIs and I also bought some RB-25s for surrounds ...I wish I had waited.
  4. You are right, there are alot of factors that are probably contributing to the sound. I guess what is really important is that they work well as a system.
  5. I have had my Klipsch set up in my sig for a little over a month now and I am overall very happy with the set. But yesterday I decided to really try and see just how close the RC-35 sounds in comparison to the RF-3IIs as far as dialogue goes by toggling the center on and off I could switch the dialogue from the mains to the center. I also did this by switching between stereo and Dolby Digital. I was pretty surprised just how different they sound. The upper frequencies are similar and there is a certain characteristic that they both share but still these speakers do not sound at all the same for dialogue. I tried some material from actors and actresses that I am pretty familar with as far as how they sound. The center that is susposed to go with the RF-3IIs is the RC-3II which based on its specs I bet it would sound even less like my RF-3IIs although I have never heard one. I guess I am not surprised because how could Klipsch possibly make a speaker the size of an RC-35 or RC-3II sound anything like the huge RF-3IIs? It makes perfect sence to me now that I have thought about it but it would be nice to have the front 3 speakers the exact same however the only way this could happen is if I went with smaller mains which is something I am not willing to do.
  6. I use the RB-25s for surround duty and RF-3IIs for mains. The RB-25s have a few big advantages over the RB-15s...the 25s are front ported so they can be placed against a wall, or hung directly on the wall and as you know the 25 produce more bass. You can mix and match any of the lower end reference series speakers as they are all voiced matched.
  7. I am looking for a single RB-25 speaker to complete my Klipsch 6.1 set-up.
  8. As you can see in my signature I already bought the speakers, I doubt I will feel the need to upgrade for a very long time. I did get everything from the Good Guys and I stayed inside my budget pretty well..... RF3IIs (last pair , floor models but were never connected or touched..it was obvious) $500 a pair RB-25 bookshelf speakers for surround duty $360 a pair RC-35 center channel $315 Grand total was : 1175 + tx = $1271.35 + JBL PB12 sub $300= $1571.35 . I think I did well, I am very happy with my HT .
  9. I noticed the speaker grill on my RC-35 only has 4 magnets on it, one on each corner, it looks like there are 4 missing magnets. Does your grill have 4 or 8 magnets on it? Thanks
  10. The RC35 should work quite well with your RB5s! They are a very close match in terms of voicing. I would not even consider the RC25 because the RC35 is much more competant for only abit more money.
  11. warranty is transferable if you have documentation. >>>>>>>>. So the manual is wrong? And BTW dont take things so personal.
  12. So yesterday I spend a 1/2 hour browsing the electronics at the Good Guys and on my way out the door I happened to come across an advertisement for 1/2 a Yamaha Receiver , in small letters "RX-V3300 $799" I went to the counter and found out it had been more than 30 days since I got my 3300, it had been like 32 days. He gave me back $216 anyways. Wow so now I got my RX-V3300 for $799 +tx instead of $999 +tx...damn now i really love it!
  13. Its definately not my receiver because I auditioned them on an RX-V3300 and they sounded great...the problem is my room and its size period. I was hoping to get some advice from others with small rooms who know of some remedys.
  14. Yeah I have pretty much a worst case scenario here except for the fact that nothing (tv etc) is in between my main speakers and I can toe them in some and they are not exactly in the corners. Speakers are Klipsch RF-3IIs for mains and they are my only concern, HT use is fine but stereo performance leaves something to be desired. Being that they are more forward sounding then my last speakers it seems its alot harder to get a good image out of them. Amp is a Yamaha RX-V3300. Its like everything is everywhere except in a single sweet spot in the room and frankly I am not into sitting in the middle of my sofa, Id like a decent sound if I sit anywhere on the sofa. Room is 10' long x 8.5' wide, sofa is against the wall to get as far away from my 66" wide screen as possible. Moving the sofa in or the speakers out any more than a few inches is not an option. Speakers are toed in and about 6' apart if I measure the space between them, actual seating is at about 9' . Changing the toe and playing around with what little room I have for adjusting the speaker locations has helped some but it would be nice to get a little more holographic type image out of them over a wider area. My last speaker threw a very wide soundstage and image and it felt very holographic but those are characteristics of laid back speakers. What are some things I can do? BTW I do love the RF-3s as they are its just they are so much clearer than what I am used to, my ears love them for their clarity but I do miss some of characteristics of my old speakers too. I do know the RF-3IIs image like made if they are in a huge room because I auditioned them in a very large room and they were just sweet as can be. Unfotunatly I do not have such a room at my disposal.

  16. I would expect it would sound better if it was up high and tilted down. If you are willing to go thru the trouble to put it up there , believe me you will be rewarded.
  17. Years ago Onecall.com had KLF30s for like $450 a pair and most of the other KLF speakers were cheap as well. I guess it was a sell thru or something.
  18. Qman, what does your whole system consist of? Are those 2 speakers stacked for the surrounds or what?
  19. HOLY MOLY QMAN!! You "freak" name seems quite fitting!! That is insane!!! I bet it sounds good!

It is, 19 lb PSU, 22,000uF capacitance,Damping factor over 200, distortion .02% at rated output, 49lbs , 7.5" tall. Its amp section is almost that of the RX-Z1 and I'd wager the amp section will beat up the power hungry slob/inefficient HK 7200 or the over priced Denon 4802. To top it all off I only paid $999 from an authorized dealer and its even less from unauthorized dealers. I feel like I stole it. The 3300 is my 4th HT reciever and it is by far the best I have had, I also feel is was the best value of them all...I am a Yamaha man from now on provided it holds up for awhile.

  23. I have only had my Yamaha RX-V3300 for about a month and my Klipsch speakers for about 2 weeks. I was running some 88db sats for awhile and one time I was able to crank my RX-V3300 to -15dB in stereo mode, I got the fan to kick in and it sounded awesome , I did not dectect too much strain but I could tell the speakers had what they could take and no more. Now I have a full Klipsch speaker set-up and its funny how loud it is a low volumes, it really depends on the source but on a good quality DVD I can turn it up to maybe -30dBs but I have yet to take it further. In Stero mode I have taken it to about -28dBs its loud and it seems the RF-3IIs could take more but I am afraid the amp will either clip or put out more than they can take. I wish I had a better idea of what was happening at these louder volumes. Generally I can judge pretty well when an amp or speaker is at its limits but with these Klipsch speakers it is harder to tell because they dont really become strained sounding like conventional speakers. BTW I have never gotten the fan to kick in since getting the Klipsch speakers and the amp runs icy cold compared to the last speakers I was running.
  24. Yesterday I was pulling my heavy DIY projector screen down to do some mods to it and I bumped my RF-3II cabinet, it did not dent it or anything but it left a white mark on it , most of it came off but some will not. Some Goof Off might work but still this incident brought up the question...What can I use to touch up this Vinyl stuff in the future?
