  1. The wire is fine. Promedias are the lowest level, they are awsome. Promedia ultra 5.1 must be better, I bet they f-ing rock even more. The quintet speakers will beat them both, I will bet on it. The promedia sub is nice, the pm ultra sub is probably better, ive had the promedias I now have the quintets with the ksw 10. it was a big step up. I like my ksw 10 but it is priced high and you can probably find a better deal for your sub. Ive said it many times, place the quintets near the back wall (2 inches from wall) and mount them if you can. But no more than 2 feet from sidewalls.

I helped my Brother build a home a few years back and we put a small theatre in the fam room and distributed sound throughout. He's not a real serious HT buff, so it works for him and the kids. HOWEVER, we used the Quintet and 10" Klipsch sub for his main room, not bad for HT use, but I was never satisfied with the sound for stereo. Here's why- the Quintet are so small that you have to cross over the sub very high in it's range. The sound then becomes kind of 'honky' or 'nasal'. Another problem is that with stereo sources, some people can localize sounds better. I had the same problem with my quintets "Honkey nasal" or whatever you want to call it. I solved the problem when I placed them against a wall. That reinforced the lower frequencys. MY QUINTETS are awsome and they do exactly what is expected of them ( 100hz-20khz ). and they no longer sound honkey or nasal.

If anyone can point me to a store that has a good deal on either of these please point it out to me. And also, what is the difference between the Quintet and the Quintet II? Thanks for anyhelp! ---------------- The quintets are very impresive, klipsch is awsome, im in love. Just be sure to place you're quintet's close to the wall behind them. In my opinion the satalite's should be 2 inches from the wall behind them and as klipsch suggest 2-3 feet from side walls'. This will give the quintets a flat responce down two 100hz !! The difrence between the quintet 1 and 2 is from what I know the quintet II has a high pass x-over at about 80hz to protect the 3.5 mid from blowing. And the wall mount is upgraded.
  4. The quintet speakers are great for anyone on a budget. I would recommend placeing the satelite speakers about two inches from the wall behind the speakers and at least two feet from side walls. This will give you a flat frequency responce by reinforcing the lower frequency of the sat's. Wall mount them if you can. My cross over is set at 100hz and I cannot detect a loss in audio.
