  1. i have a brand new PM4.1, but whenever i on the speaker, if i never play something, the speaker sometimes produce some buzzing sounds, it is not too loud, but very noticeable...is that something wrong with the amp section of this klipsch? anyone experienced this before
  2. is that u mean even a set of quintet is better than my setup.?.sigh...looks like i made the wrong choice...may b i just buy a set of synergy system when i have the money...reference series is way too far for me...
  3. Well, i myself have an entry level set of home theatre which i bought for almost 6 months ago, the combination is as below... 1. Marantz SR4300 6.1 Receiver 2. Mission M74 floorstand 3. Acoustic Energy Aegis One 4. Mission M7C centre channel 5. Mirage BPS150 Dual 8inch subwoofer 150watts since these days there is tonnes of good quality (some even quite expensive) sub/sat combo, i am interested to get a set for my dad's house...the one that interest me is the Klipsch Quintet, KEF KHT2005 or the Energy Take5.2...they aint cheap, almost the same price as my system...i wish to know how far can it be if comparing it to my system which consists of floorstander and subwoofer...will it be better or on par.?.is the differences is big.?.since i read lots of reviews saying how good these sub/sat combo is...is that really true, anyone here use the sub/sat models i mentioned above.?.thanks...opinions are welcome, if they are really that GOOD, i might just bought me a new set and put my current system back to my dad's house...
  4. i just bought a new set of 4.1, i found out that there's a humming noise on my rear right channel... the rest of the 3 channels are fine... another thing, the shop gave me 2 sets of wires, and i decided to use only the shorts ones, that means, i only use 4 short wires for each channels and never use any of the 4 wires,so, does this affect my speakers?will the humming noise disappear if i use 2 short wires for my front channels n 2 long wires for my rear channels? Lastly, is the humming noise normal for my rear right channel???
  5. if i add a SB1 and a Klipsch centre sc.5, and take my Aegis one as rear, together with my JBL 10 inch sub (Digital 10), do u guys think it will match the sounds.?.since i am using different brand of speaker as front and rear...i dunno whether the sound will be nice..and will it be nicer than a set of Quintet.?.
  6. i am also very interested at the Klipsch Quintet, now i already have a stereo setup consisting of a JBL 10inch sub and pair of Acoustic Energy Aegis One, i have 2 options for now, i. sell the AE Aegis One and get 5 pcs of Quintet and buy a used receiver and continue to use my JBL sub... ii. Buy another pair of bookshelf (can be another set of Aegis one), a centre channel and a used receiver both cost me almost the same...which options u guys think will offering me the better performance.?.
  7. well...for u all quintet's owners out there, can i know normally what speaker cable you all use.?.i have 100fts of Cambridge Soundwork 16gauge full copper cable lying around...before i purchase the quintet...do u guys think that this cable will offer decent quality.?.the receiver will be the yamaha rxv430...regards
  8. well, being an ex PM4.1 user, i would say that from the experience using the PM, my new Z680 sounds suprisingly good, the mid and highs is really out of my expectation from just a full driver spec, in my opinions, the sound from the satellite of PM4.1 is quite harsh when turn loud, while i never have this problem with the new z680..but there's some problems too, i dislike how the logitech sub sounds...it's like not accurate and not tight compared to my ex PM4.1...that's why i am seeking solution to add a sws sub with the hope that it will sound better by then...regards
  9. well i have a Z680 now, i wish to know anyone here owned a Z680 and they add a SWS sub to this system.?.is this possible to do.?.coz i think if i add a sws sub to this system, it will improve the quality of the bass output...the z680 sub output is strong enough, but i wish to add a sws so that the bass output would be cleaner yet tighter...any opinions.?.
  10. well i live in Malaysia and i plan to get myself a set of quintet speaker...since i can get a demo set at quite a good price...but i wish to know whether there's some difference between the quintet I and the quintet II...i heard there's quintet II but i can't find any information about it...and now regarding the subwoofer, if i gonna buy a brand new Klipsch KSW10...it would cost a bomb in my country which is around usd400...personally i think there's some other choices which is cheaper yet offers comparable performance...what u guys think about the Infinity BU-120 which is 12inch sub compare to Klipsch 10inch...yet it's cheaper at around usd300 after converted...do you think other brand of sub will blend nicely with the quintet.?.the last question is, i have 100fts of Cambridge Soundworks 16gauges wires...do you think it's ok to wire up the quintet using these.?.the receiver i plan to use is Yamaha RXV-430 which i can get for quite good price...and i'll connect my PC soundcard output to the optical in of this receiver...so that i can have good sound reproduce from my PC...i think this setup will be much better compare than a set of Promedia 5.1...yet i just pay slightly more for this than a Promedia 5.1 dream system....any suggestion on my setup or opinions are welcome...thanx
  11. hey pinipig, there's one question i dun understand regarding your sig...how you connect another sub to your PC's setup.?.where's the connection you connect to.?.mine to explain it in details for me since i am kinda dumb in audio...regards
  12. well, can i know how you connect a home theathre sub to your Klipsch PM4.1...i also owned a Wharfedale Powercube sub...and it's connected to a Diamond 8.1 stereo speaker and i just put these stereo setup right beside my computer table which have a set of Z680...i just think if i can connect the sub of the wharfedale to the Z680...this will be something truly interesting..since i think i won't have the time to on both system at once...why dun make full use of it right.?.care to let me know the detail ways to connect a sub to the multimedia system.?.
  13. i am having some dilemma, i wanted to have good speaker and i am on quite a tight budget, recently i've heard the KEF Cresta3 floorstander and i like it, and i plan to connect the amplifier to my PC soundcard (Audigy), anyone here did this before and mind to let me know yours result.?.since i don't want after i bought the KEF and connected to my PC, yielding very big difference or lousy sound just due to my soundcard...i knew that cd player aint expensive nowadays, but there's thousands of good quality MP3 sitting inside my computer's hard drive, do you guys think that connecting my soundcard's output to an amplifier a feasible choice.?.and will it be better than a Promedia (which designed for PC sound).?. really really appreciate if anyone here in the forum can enlighten me up a little, thanx
  14. since i already have enough $$$ go for the NHT SB2...how does this compared to the Klipsch SB1/SB2...since it's hard to find a demo for the Klipsch's setup...and will it match with the Marantz PM4200.?.is this a good amplifier for stereo setup...i decided to buy the Marantz because it's cheap and affordable for a poor student like me, yet received some good reviews, if you guys here all think that the Klipsch SB2/SB1 will be much better than the NHT, i can always change my decision, the marantz i can get it for around usd220 but may be it's more expensive because i dun think my country can get the price as low as in United States... any opinion man.?.
  15. guys, sorry for the spelling and sorry for my bad english... but i think i will get myself a set of NHT SB2 and Marantz PM4200 as my amp, and i'll buy a set of Logitech Z680 for watching DVD... i dare not to talk so much anymore coz my english is bad... just typed here to let u guys knew my decision
