I didnt get my digital essentials disc yet So I cant use that. I did pump up the sub to 9 though! Tonight is my first movie so I want it to be just righ. 4. Due to where I placed my svs sub the cord wont reach my monster powerbar. So I just plugged it in the wall. I guess I could use an extension cord, but it will be a pain to snake it around the back of the ent center. Am I asking for trouble, without it on a surge?
  5. This goes back to one of the first replies...do most people here prefer digital coaxial connections rather than optical?
  6. My sub cable and digital audio cable have the arrows pointing one way. Which way are there going to.. Thanks Sorry for the double post

  9. I dont have a cd player other than my dvd since I damaged my old one in a move. My dvd player is a toshiba progisive scan model, dont have the model number handy, it was about 130 or so at best buy last year. I have been thinking about either getting a a 5 dvd changer or a seperate cd player with at least 5 disc capacity( NO NEED FOR 100 OR SO DISCS. I think my current dvd player works fine. Not sure which to get if you think you might have something to fit for me email me @ tibor@comcast.net or post it here. Thanks
  10. So Just run one standard 14gauge wire electical wire that is connected to the ground copper in my electrical outlet for my tv for expample. Does it need to be regular electrical wire or something smaller in guage. Just seems like a messy way to do, have a wire coming out of my outlet to the reciever, is there a cleaner way that you can think of?
  11. What happens if you have a electrical problem and the surge or whatever runs through the ground to the reciever?? I dont have more than a total of hundred feet of cable. Maybe I can get a inline booster or something like that! Thanks
  12. I have the run come in the house and it splits off to two tvs and a cable modem. At the tv end I split it again for the pip..I was thinking of getting a 3way splitter to use for the fm radio on my denon, since I get poor fm reception in the basement. Does splitting the cable reduce quality alot? My comcast service already sucks, and some channels already dont look that great now. Thanks

    KSW-12

I had a ksw-12 it was a nice sub. Only complaint was at times it was boomy, although that could be due to improper tweaking.
  14. Where can I pick up dve discs and want to they run?
  15. The one I currently have only does test tones for 5.1 I need one for 6.1. And I dont think my current disc tells me at which level the sounds are at 75 or 85 Thanks
  16. I was planning on using a rc-3 II for the rear center is this a good choice, and if I run 6.1 on this reciever instead of 7.1 is the rear center I use actually a rear center signal or is it a matrixed back surrond. Thanks for the info.
  17. Check updated link in original message for correct picture Sorry
  18. Hopefully I will be putting my gear in the basement this weekend if my carpet jerk shows up, since he hasnt shown up two times alreadly. I ran a 5.1 setup before, but now 6.1. I am not clear where to hook up the rear center on the reciever..for some reason the download pic isnt working. here is the address for he pic!! http://www.usa.denon.com/catalog/photo.asp?s=home&p=AVR%2D2803&f=AVR+2803+Rear%2Ejpg&c=2 Thanks
  19. HI That sounds right...But all three lines roll continously and I have had comcast guys here many times and on the pole with no success. From what I have seen everyone has this problem...Even my mother in law two towns over! Thanks
  20. yeah I know that I have been trying to make a claim on a monitor ups broke that I insured for 500 bucks, that is a nightmare. Of course they accused me of not paking it right. Anyway, I found the other day wires that were spliced together that would normally go in a junction box just lose up in the ceiling. I never thought about the ul speaker wire...live and learn! Thanks By the way I hope this thought you put into my head doesn't drive me nuts and I yank the speaker wires out and switch them!!!
  21. I have comcast cable here in Nj and the digital channels and hd channels look great. But the lower channels 2-40 or so have these horrible rolling lines usually three at a time that go from the bottom up. I have had comcast numerous times over and they never seem to fix it. Every one in my area I know and even towns over have the same problem, but with a good set it looks even worse than on a crap apex or something like that. Comcast says it is from when the towers went down they had satelites on them or something. Anybody now of some kind of fix or amplifier/filter that would help Thanks
  22. Hi I got a toshiba 36hfx73. I had the 32hf72 before that, Great tv and has beatiful color. I had a sony wega a few years back not a hd model though. My first hfx 36 toshiba had to go back to the store becasue of a real bad curve up at the top left of the tv, and a slight curve down on the left bottom, really only noticable during a wide screen picture. What a pain I cant say my local dealer was real helpful. Took about a month before they got another one..wont be going back there!
