  1. Thanks Moon! Is 12g big enough? Joe
  2. What is the best place to get good wires for my set-up? I'm running the RF-7's &RC-7. I do not want to spend a fortune on the "BEST" wires, just what will do me good? I thought I remembered somebody getting some good wire at Home Depot or Lowe's? True? Any help? Thanks, Joe
  3. That's what the Klipsch Tech. guy told me, however, I don't see how building an enclosure behind them could do anything but help..... I may try it one day, but for now I am happy with the sound the produce!! Joe
  4. Congrats!! Enjoy the Sounds of Kilpsch.................Good choice! Joe
  5. Have you gotten to listen to the RF-7's yet? Are you dead set against buying these big beast? Joe
  6. Sweet.....................very clean look to it!! Enjoy! Joe

I like the RF7 better - but speakers are large - not sure how they'd look at home. RF5 seemed to be a good selection considering sound, size and price. But I'm not sold on that choice just yet. ---------------- When the dealer switched from the RF-5's to the RF-7's I could not believe the change. He was playing the same demo clip over and over and I heard so many different things on the RF-7's. The level of detail on certain sounds was increadible! For me it was no choice, the 7's had won the fight. I had to drop buying the Sub for now, because of my budget, however for now the 7's are able to play full range and give me plenty of Bass! I know most folks on here have to have more bass and more will be nice one day, but for me the RF-7's pump out good deep bass I guess LOTR I & II have worked my 7's the best so far and they never missed a beat! I also choose the RC-7 because it was part of the Reference matching set, however due to the WAF (Wife Acceptance Factor) I bought the RCR-5's to hide them in the ceiling, but now I couldn't be happier with them. Alot of the good surround sounds are of jets, airplanes, rain or wind, weather, ship or boat noise.....that typically come from above so the RCR-5's mounted in the ceiling gives a great reproduction of these type sounds. However this is My $0.02. Others may disagree with this perspective? Take your time and don't get in a rush before you buy. Your ears will thank you later! The guy's on this board are good for helpful advice most of the time so stay tuned Good Luck, Joe
  8. Quote below was my initial post after buying the RF-7's. I'll give you an update tonight after I get home on how they are after I have used them a few months. Joe "Hey Guy's, I bought the "Big One's".....................I got a new pair of RF-7's and the matching RC-7 on Friday! I also, picked up a pair of thr RCR-5's in-ceiling speakers. I will wait until I have a good weekend to do the cutting into my ceiling. As the salesguy switched between the RF-7's and the RF-35's, to me there was no compairing to do! I was sold on the sound After I have time, I will type a full review of them for those who were like me and trying to decide weather to pull the triger on the 7's. Here is what I can say so far..................Unreal!! All I have hooked up is the front's and it already sounds like I have the full surround going!! I guess it's the imaging I Honestly have never heard anything like these. Those who have said "It's like watching a new movie"......they are correct! You hear little things that you never knew where recorded into the soundtrack. I can't explain it, but I LIKE it! Oh well...............I guess you can tell I am sold on the Klipsch line of products, and espically the 7's up front! I have attached a photo....hope you can see it! (How do folks post a thread with the photo already showing up?) See Ya"
  9. I love my RCR-5's they sound great. I installed them above my couch. See my set-up for more details.....Good Luck, Joe
  10. Thanks!! I did not use the cover material yet, does it muffle the sound any? Joe
  11. Ability to reproduce movie sounds that the only other place you would hear would be at the movie theater! I'm serious.........IMO, They have the greatest ability to play back the level/clarity of sound that the movie theater has. Part of it is their soundstage, crispness, sensitivity, etc....and the other factors mentioned above! I'll never regret buying my Klipsch! Rock On!!! My $0.02 Joe
  12. Nothing beats your ear? Listen to several and then choose what your ears say! My ears could tell that the RF-7's and the matching RC-7 were the best I had heard for the $$ Good Luck! Joe
  13. I love my new RCR-5's "In-ceiling" speakers! I'm using them as my surrounds and so far I think they sound great!! Good luck with your setup. Joe
  14. Very nice set-up! Enjoy the movies! Joe
  15. What is the white foam/filter stuff for that comes with the RCR-5's?? Is it for sound or dust? I did not use them, Was I suppost too? They fit inside the speaker covers perfect but I decided not to use them......any thoughts?? Joe
  16. Look's nice the wood grain is sweet! Joe

Is your prime viewing position fairly close to the TV? Your top-mount keeps the RC7 in free air, so the bass port is unobstructed, good job! ---------------- Well.........I tried to build the shelf so that it would be flat or level, however, it ended up being slightly tilted to the front of the TV. Then I used the feet on the bottom of the RC7 to make the angle down toward my listening area. My couch is approx. 12-13ft. from the TV. I have not played with the angle much but I may raise the angle on it some. The real reason I built the shelf like I did was to more evenly distribute the heavy weight of the RC7 on the flimsy feeling top of the TV (thin plastic). The TV only has a 4" lip on the top. I also used four rubber tabs on the bottom of the shelf.....like the one's that come with the RC7 to keep it from scratching the TV. Thanks for the nice comments on my system. There is always room for improvements!
  18. Here is the original photo again: Thanks, Joe
  19. Yes, I know! Spent all the money on the speakers!! I have Banana plugs on the two fronts with better wire from the store where I bought the RF-7's, however, I did not have enought to run the RC-7. What do you suggest?
  20. $6.95 Per pair or each? Joe
  21. Here is a pic of my new shelf that I built for my RC-7......................I was quite proud of it! Joe
  22. Thanks......I built a custom Shelf. I'll post some pics tonight! Joe
  23. Thanks.................How do you like your HK receiver? What the specs. on that one?
  24. After I have had time to tweek them, I'll keep you posted, but so far I love them! I watched Star Wars Ep. I and the Pod race was great!!
