Ciao to all, I would tell you that I have tried a 45 SET amp with my Khorn and it is the best sound I have ever heard. In another pair of Khorn I still have the passive biamplification (CJ EL34 amp and two GTA 300B monoblocks) and I thought it was the best system, but I was wrong. I have tried the 45 ST first and it was very good but a bit dry on the bass region, then I mounted the EML 45 meshplate and........... all is in the right place; it has more magic midrange than the 300B, almost the bass of an EL34 PP and the best highs I have heard from a tube amp. I was surprised that a 45 amp (1,8 watts) had more dynamic gradations and punch than the 300B amp and that it is infinitely better than a 2A3 amp (SE or PP). I don't know how describe the sound: but my room has the right "pressurization" with almost any kind of music, the immediacy of the instruments (guitars or voices). I can reach a very loud level without any kind of clipping saturation. Natural, natural and natural is the right word. I have tried the 45 amp on a pair of Fortè II and Cornwall I with very good results but not in the same league of the Khorn, so I think that the Khorn efficiency is the minimum for that amp. I have tried it with the Heresy too, but not a good match here: I love the total dynamic pleasure that a right pressure level can gives. For the first time the guitars are so dynamic like I'm in front the best tube guitar amp (difficult to explain for me). I would be very glad to know personal opinions by others Khorn's owners (with 45 amp). Excuse me for my english but I wanted let you know the excitation for my new discovery after many many time. In an old thread John Albright said this: " I thought the Ak-3 were paper and foil in oil, as well." For many time I thought they were polypropylene type. I ask that because they are the best sounding caps in the Klipsch speakers (for me) and I would find an equivalent type.

No, they are very fine. Simply I would know what type they are.

Can someone tell me what kind of capacitors are in the AK2 crossovers? Are the black caps a polypropylene type?

So, these are mylars. Are the mylars the same thing of polyester? What is the sonic signature of these caps? Why Klipsch don't use polypropylene? No air core inductors too. Perhaps have I to reinstall the polyester caps in my Forte II?

Enrip, I have now about 14 Cd Players in NOS mode and all of them are simply fabulous (my personal favourite is the Philips CD-960 in zero oversampling - nothing can reach it). I know that instrumental measurements are not very good but the sound is absolutely first class and I hope that people would speak about the Zero oversampling only after they have heard it. Zero oversampling and Klipsch speakers (I have two pairs of Khorn, Cornwall, Forte II and Heresy I) are a sublime match. Many thanks again.

I have had many SET amps but nobody sounds like the Golden Tube Audio SE-300B monos. Incredible midrange and highs. But for the bass I use another amp (PP EL34). I don't like any SET amp for the bass.

My next act would be a letter to the Georgia's authorities: who knows the name and address of the Georgia's Governor and the General Procurator (attorney) of Georgia (I have translated from italian language: Procuratore Generale dello Stato). The seller replied to the first questions directly through the Ebay auction. I thought that the existence of a Bank account was a good thing (how can an african guy or a foreign person has a Bank account in the USA?). Certainly I'll never do the same things in the future. I agree that Ebay is a great place and I'll continue to buy there, but using more careful. For now I cannot buy the MC30 again and I'll stay with my components (I must think that the 300B amp is better than the MC30 now).
