  1. That was my first "proper" turntable setup, save for the cart. I used the AudioTechnica. Sounded sweet for the $200 I spent on it.
  2. Firstly - I never heard properly set-up K-Horns. This may seem like an odd thing to ask of complete strangers but if there's a forum member in Southern Mass, Eastern Conn or RI who will be kind enough to host me in their home for a listening session, I'd be very very grateful. PS - I'm not annoying
  3. Well, looks like I got the speaker![Y] Now, how does one transport something like that? It does come apart in two pieces, the bottom folded horn base and the top with the mids. I have a pick-up truck.
  4. I offered $400. Don't know if it's too low, but mods would have to be done, plus refinishing the cabinets...
  5. So what would be a fair price for this speaker in the condition on the photos??? It might need an overhaul of the cabinets, not to mention what else might be done on the inside...
  6. CaptnBob and other experts, what fair price do you think I should offer for this speaker? As I understand it's still available.
  7. I don't know how much he wants for it, just emailed him asking for a price quote. Looks pretty vintage, eh...
  8. This speaker is for sale locally. These are the only pics the seller presented, I haven't seen the actual speaker myself. The seller describes it as made by a Victor Brociner Electronics Lab, Second ave, NYC. I know that Victor Brociner was a hi-fi dealer in Manhattan in the 50s and 60s...
  9. First of all, thank you for welcoming me to this great forum. In response to your questions I now have my system info and the preferred music in my profile. Regarding the rest of the room, walls are wood-paneled, ceiling is plaster with exposed wood beams, right now the floor is covered with a nasty carpet on top of the cement slab. Carpet is coming off soon, and it'll probably be replaced with hard-wood with a couple of rugs thrown on top. It warms my heart to know that I can put the K-Horns along the long wall. It's been a dream of mine to acquire a pair for a while now, but the space we lived in wouldn't allow for it.
  10. I finally got a room of my own for music listening and some quiet. 25ft long 12ft wide 8ft high Ceiling is plaster with exposed wood beams. Walls are wood paneled through-out. Do you think Klipschorns would fit nicely in a room of this size and where would you place them? Thanks in advance.
  11. This mod sounds like a fun thing. I just got the 72 Heresy. Can you help me with the type of curcuit it has? Will this mod work on it?
  12. Just bought these <1972 vintage> while on a weekend ski trip in Mont Tremblant of all places. In a junk barn... Wanted to replace the binding posts. The back panel doesn't budge at all. How thick and heavy is it? Any suggestions?
