  1. For me this show ran out of gas years ago. It was interesting at first but post show success is fleeting at best for most of the winners and runners up. Some contestants have had some extraordinary success too, but the show is tooooo long in the tooth for me. Reality TV is an idea whose time has passed IMO.

  2. 08 Blue Water Venture 5.0 Volvo Gl SX I/O Cool

Great looking boat. Can't wait to get mine out this summer.

How long is the boating season where you live? Here in Maine it's too short, really about four months (June-Sept).

That size boat is perfect. It's big enough to be comfortable, but still easy to pull up on a sandy beach for a BBQ, and easy enough to tow to different lakes every weekend.

    Hey Greg,

I live in So Cal so we can get her wet year round.

  3. In the LS type A, AA, AL the actual crossover point is more the acoustic cutoff of the horns rather than electrical. The same is true for the ALK. I thought I noticed a "hole" when I first switched to 511b but it turned out not to be the case. I use the ALK Universal so I opted to change my tap settings to knock down the sqawker a bit. Been happy ever since.

Thats right....the k-400, according to the dope from hope article introducing it, has a lower range of 230hz with a recommended crossover of 400hz. The 511 on the other hand, has a recommended crossover of 500hz. So you loose quite a bit of mid bass when you move away from the k-400.

The Belle Klipsch used the same networks with a 500 hz K500 horn, the LS Bass bin goes up over 500 Hz with ease.

  5. I heard whilst wandering the briny deep with Mohammed, on his way to a "warmer place", he wondered aloud what are these little balls coverd in spines and Mohammed said that is your reward as promised. Bemused, Oasma protested " what these are not virgins", to wit Mohammed replied no it's not virgins it's urchins.

  6. Nice boat! My friends father had a Glastron with a Volvo motor when I was in high-school. We had a blast on that thing. Lots of good memories. His father however called it his "hole in the water you pour money into"!

BOAT is not a thing it is an acronym; Break Out Another Thousand[H]

  7. I use the ALK universal. It is a good network. It does have a "sound".
I can tell it instnalty when I here it. If you do go this route I'd
suggest Bob Cties CT 125 tweeter, AL's networks run teh tweeter wide
open and Bob tweeters are a touch less sensitive. IMO they are a match
made in heaven. Couple all this to th etractix sqawker and you'll have an incredible sound.

  8. Volvo, very nice! Is it 4 cylinder or 5?

A brother and I had some fun times on an old Stamas 20 footer with a four cylinder Volvo.

    Alway brought us back!

    Enjoy! Smile

It is a 5.0 ltr 8 Cylinder, 220 HP. I had her up to 54 mph on the test run before the dealer asked that I "save some gas" in case we opted not to buy it adn I was in a 35 mpn limit zone [:$]. She handles like a dream! [H]

  9. Here is one that will make you chuckle. Since I train in Schutzhund, my commands are in German. The down command is "Platz". When I taught Jake to platz, I used food initially to lure him down. (Side note: Jake will crawl across molten glass for food/treats). The food being a strong motivator worked quite well. Before long I could fade the lure and just tap my foot and say platz and Jake would drop like he was shot. His down is still super rapid fast today. Weeeeeel being a "new” competitive obedience trainer I saw my success with Jake as an affirmation of "My training skills". Fast forward to Bodhi. Same technique, Bodhi downs really fast as well, when lured with food. OK says I, move to the foot tap as a transitional stage. Nope Bodhi does not see the foot tap as a cue each time, in-fact he only downed about 15% in response to the foot tap. Obviously being a successful trainer of one dog in this activity it cannot be my training technique that faulty. Ahhhh persistence thats what I need!!!! Soooo I tap my foot Bodhi just looks at me, try again and again and again.........nothing. By this point I am frustrated and my wife is in hysterics almost falling out of her chair laughing. Yet there is Bodhi just smiling away doing nothing when I tap my foot!!!! Finally I get my wife to calm down and breath, and I ask what the *&^%$#@ are you laughing at???? Again out of breath she starts to haw haw almost uncontrollably but regains her composure and says Jim he is doing exactly what you are asking of him, and I bellow out “WHAT????? Are you nuts he is NOT doing what I say” Unrelentingly she laughs again and says yes he is. (all the while Bodhi is facing me.) When you tap your foot Bodhi taps his. Suuure enough I’d tap my left foot and say “Platz” and Bodhi would tap his right front paw. I tap my right foot and say “Platz” an d good ole Bodhi would tap his left front paw. He’d perfectly match my foot tap with the corresponding front paw all the while just smiling looking at me. Dogs are awesome ;-)

  10. yes, the breeder did tell us she would not get big, that is what we wanted

her mom was only 13lbs and the dad was 25lbs, she was one of the smaller ones in the liter

Just curious what if any type of doggy activities you might have a flair for. Her size and weight as an adult should make her a fun little agility gal.

  11. I just "cant wait" until ours starts...Sad I would think with 3 males though you will be having a lot of fun!!! We still have 3 or 4 months to go though.

Just noticed the Mali in your avatar.

Yep they are great dogs!! Ours is not a working dog. We do obidience traing with her though, always suprises me how fast she catches on to what we want her to do.

    6,5 months now

We've been Mali owners for the last 16 years. current "collection is 3 boys n a girl. Fantastic dogs. We play in Schutzhund with them. At some point will probably add agility to the mix as well.
